Problem with Cleaning Agency

Dear Ladies,
I wonder if anyone can advice me. The clenaing agency that I used failed to find me a holiday cover when the girl that usually cleans my place went on holiday. The agency had 4 weeks notice from the girl, but 7 weeks later and 2 empty promises, the agency still didn't get anyone in

I got fed up of the empty promises and having to wait at home for a cleaner that never turned up, so I fired the agency. I paid the agency via direct debit. Now that I have cancelled the agency, I need to get back some money. The lady who own the agency said she will check her accounts and promised to post me a cheque if I am due a credit, which I obviously haven't received.

Does anyone has experience of this and know what I can do or who I can approach for advice?

Write a letter of demand to the agency - basically saying that you require the money to be returned within 7 days.
