I have two windows that need nets measuring 98inches wide with 58 inch drop. I am looking on line and do not know what 'length' i need. does that refer to drop or widht of window. and for gather do i need to add say 50% of width of window onto measurement? therefore by 150 inches of length with 58 inch drop.....i wish i had paid more attention to my mother....

p.s any website recommendations appreciated.

I think length would mean the same as drop, and I think they suggest up to about twice the width of the window for the gather, I guess depending how you like them though.... I think mine are about twice the width. I don't know any websites, though Google came up with lots!

I went to John Lewis and told them the dimensions I had measured and they told me what I needed and showed me the ones I could choose from. If you don't live near one I bet they'd talk to you about it over the phone then you can order online - free delivery.

if you were to have them made to measure they would be 2.5 - 3 times the width of the window!

So, you need curtains that are 150 cm long.

(that's from the top of the window, to the bottom of the curtain)

To get them to gather nicely, you probably need double the actual window width, so about 250cm wide. As that is so wide, you will probably need two curtains for each window rather than one (so each curtain about 125 cm wide), unless you are having them made especially.

Have a look here for some voiles that are good value:
