today to try and get my house back to some sort of order (how does it descend into chaos so quickly?)

Don't know why but I'm feeling totally unmotivated and crappy, however my house is a tip again and I know that doesn't help my mood (ok it's never "good" but its usually at least acceptable) so I need to try and do something with it today to try and lift my mood a little.

Things I need to do are

Load the dishwasher (and put it on)
Washing, drying and ironing
Tidy the living room and hoover it
Tidy the kitchen (worktops, empty bin, floor etc)
Clean the bathroom (including emptying the bin, floor etc)

Need to get the DS's sorted before I start, but who will join me today??

oh well I shall keep updating this thread anyhow just to make myself feel better, especially if I don't get everything done that needs doing so I can see I have done something.

Boys are now dressed and we've all had breakfast (I don't usually eat breakfast) and I've showered, about to get dressed and dry my hair then get a load of washing in the machine, and put the dishwasher on (think it may be on twice as it hasn't been on for a few days and there's loads of stuff to go in it

tootired -doesn't matter if you do things that aren't on the list - at the end of the day it's still things that you have to do.

exH used to mock my written lists that included things such as

Breakfast
Dress boys
Lunch
Prepare dinner
Bath boys
School run etc

as they were "things I didn't need to remind myself about"......but actually I realised that they were still things that needed to be done and take up time.

I've now got the dishwasher on and am rinsing some clothes in the washing machine that I washed on Sunday night but forgot to hang up (so not dirty - just needed freshening up again), also given DS3 some milk.

I meant to:

  • get someone to propose me as a parent governor
  • tidy the conservatory
  • phone HR re my change of working hours
  • phone my office re drinks on Friday
  • phone La Redoute about security query (btw am acute phone-phobe, so these three are a big deal for me, even phoning my office!)
  • collect DD from school at 12 (v important this one)

I have actually:

  • got a proposer AND a seconder
  • had coffee with my seconder
  • made all three phonecalls, with definite results on all bar night out (still on but don't know where we're going)
  • made my conservatory equally, but differently messy
  • eaten three caramel digestives and made a cup of tea

I still need to (today):

  • eat remaining biscuit and drink tea
  • COLLECT DD!!!

Postponed:

  • actually tidying conservatory in such a way that it is tidy

Tasks generated:

  • take defunct DVD player and printer (discovered on futon whilst 'tidying' conservatory!) to tip

arrrrrrrrrgh! i have fallen out with tesco. i dont want a super sized tesco anymore. i like the little one. that was awfull! i couldnt find anything. they had out the cereal where the alcohol is meant to be and the honey where the tuna usually is. i dont know where the tuna and alcohol have gone.

to do next;
wash up breakfast things
make dd2 dinner
prepare flapjacks
coffee break

hope everyone else is getting on better than me? all i have managed so far is tesco's.

right, I have put away yesterday's dry load of washing, and hung the load just finished out to dry. (when I say out I mean over airer in corner of bathroom, it is too rainy to hang things out in the garden )

I have also drunk my coffee adn written my shopping list for tomorrow.

Will tackle mess in dining room now.

DCMB - I am a phone-phobe too, and would much rather e-mail. I also hide in the back room and let dh answer the door...

Mmm, maybe I need professional help...

FAQ · 09/09/2008 12:06

I'm also a phone-phobe - I'll make calls to friends, but anything "business" like, or ringing the school to say that one of the DS's won't be in, or even ringing for a doctors appointment leaves me a wreck.

Where possible I'll find email address for companies and wait days for a reply rather than ring them

ok - I've had 45 minutes "lunch" break (didn't actually have lunch per se - just a packet of crisps)

Now going to go and take the washing out of the machine and get it dried, and put another load in to rinse.

Then empty the bins and make a start tidying up in here while DS3 is asleep
