Feeling unmotivated and flylady doesn't work for me..........come and join me (please)........(129 Posts)
today to try and get my house back to some sort of order (how does it descend into chaos so quickly?)
Don't know why but I'm feeling totally unmotivated and crappy, however my house is a tip again and I know that doesn't help my mood (ok it's never "good" but its usually at least acceptable) so I need to try and do something with it today to try and lift my mood a little.
Things I need to do are
Load the dishwasher (and put it on)
Washing, drying and ironing
Tidy the living room and hoover it
Tidy the kitchen (worktops, empty bin, floor etc)
Clean the bathroom (including emptying the bin, floor etc)
Need to get the DS's sorted before I start, but who will join me today??
oh well I shall keep updating this thread anyhow just to make myself feel better, especially if I don't get everything done that needs doing so I can see I have done something.
Boys are now dressed and we've all had breakfast (I don't usually eat breakfast) and I've showered, about to get dressed and dry my hair then get a load of washing in the machine, and put the dishwasher on (think it may be on twice as it hasn't been on for a few days and there's loads of stuff to go in it
ill join you when i get back from tesco. my jobs are
1) go to tesco
2) make flapjacks
3) organise dd1's dance bag
4) clean kitchen
and thats it for now but if i do that in time ill add more to my list.
I will join you aswell. Not feeling on top of things mentally at the moment and this has a direct effect on my housework.
I need to:
tidy dining room
dust dining room
hang washing out
put yesterday's dry washing away
mop kitchen floor
photograph items to sell on eBay
Will make a start now. How are you getting on?
oh also go to the college to check course start date/time <think ill do this while dd1 is at dancing though>
hippipotami - that's exactly whathappens to me, and then the lack of housework then affects my mental state - vicious circle
I'm typing this post one handed as I'm now finally dressed and a m drying my hair
I will join you too
I have got my mother coming over from France tomorrow night and although I am 37 yrs of age and apparently a grown up I know I am going to be spending today and tomorrow trying to sort the house out .
My list for today is to
Sort out her bedroom
Put clean washing away and not just leave it all sitting on the dining table till we need it
Wish me luck and good luck to all
I'll have a go too! My house has not been tidy at all during the summer hols.

Have just washed up breakfast dishes and taken compost caddy out to composter. Forgot to put those two on teh list earlier, but they needed doing and are now done
FAQ I know about that viscious circle. It is a bugger isn't it!
Am procrastinating by making a cup of coffee, but will write teh shopping list whislt drinking it, in preparation for teh weekly shop tomorrow.

well done everyone, I've just been on the phone to my DP ironing things out (not being myself=me clamming up and unintentionally pushing people away - including him ) - but all sorted now
Better go and get that washing on and load the dishwasher
so far have
given ds lunch
none of which were on my list.
Must leave this seat and computer and get on!
i need to-
put away washing
clean out rabbit
tootired -doesn't matter if you do things that aren't on the list - at the end of the day it's still things that you have to do.
exH used to mock my written lists that included things such as
School run etc
as they were "things I didn't need to remind myself about"......but actually I realised that they were still things that needed to be done and take up time.
I've now got the dishwasher on and am rinsing some clothes in the washing machine that I washed on Sunday night but forgot to hang up (so not dirty - just needed freshening up again), also given DS3 some milk.
Hi, I'll join in too please
- laundry, laundry, laundry..........
- tidy living room, dust and vacuum
- clean and tody kitchen, worktops and mop floor
- clean bathroom and downstairs cloakroom
I meant to:
- get someone to propose me as a parent governor
- tidy the conservatory
- phone HR re my change of working hours
- phone my office re drinks on Friday
- phone La Redoute about security query (btw am acute phone-phobe, so these three are a big deal for me, even phoning my office!)
- collect DD from school at 12 (v important this one)
I have actually:
- got a proposer AND a seconder
- had coffee with my seconder
- made all three phonecalls, with definite results on all bar night out (still on but don't know where we're going)
- made my conservatory equally, but differently messy
- eaten three caramel digestives and made a cup of tea
I still need to (today):
- eat remaining biscuit and drink tea
- COLLECT DD!!!
- actually tidying conservatory in such a way that it is tidy
- take defunct DVD player and printer (discovered on futon whilst 'tidying' conservatory!) to tip

wash up and clean kitchen
tidy living room

arrrrrrrrrgh! i have fallen out with tesco. i dont want a super sized tesco anymore. i like the little one. that was awfull! i couldnt find anything. they had out the cereal where the alcohol is meant to be and the honey where the tuna usually is. i dont know where the tuna and alcohol have gone.
to do next;
wash up breakfast things
make dd2 dinner
coffee break <the most important task of course >
hope everyone else is getting on better than me? all i have managed so far is tesco's.
right, I have put away yesterday's dry load of washing, and hung the load just finished out to dry. (when I say out I mean over airer in corner of bathroom, it is too rainy to hang things out in the garden )
I have also drunk my coffee adn written my shopping list for tomorrow.
Will tackle mess in dining room now.
DCMB - I am a phone-phobe too, and would much rather e-mail. I also hide in the back room and let dh answer the door...
Mmm, maybe I need professional help...
I'm also a phone-phobe - I'll make calls to friends, but anything "business" like, or ringing the school to say that one of the DS's won't be in, or even ringing for a doctors appointment leaves me a wreck.
Where possible I'll find email address for companies and wait days for a reply rather than ring them
im going to do it.
farewell.i'll miss you mumsnet.i may live to tell the tale of my housework woes. must do it!
Need to do dishes and clean kitchen
need to tidy living room
make lunch for dh
bring books over to ds cause school only gave the first 8 locker keys in his class and he couldnt fit anymore in his bag!
I have 3/4 of an hour to do
this so need to get off the computer
