yes - but mine is an all day one - having a break at the moment, got my second load of washing on, tidied up my bedroom, still need to several more loads of washing , load the dishwasher (and put it on - forgot last night), try and do "something" with DS2/3's room, start sellotaping together approx 100 lego instructions in DS1's room, then need to tidy downstairs, including cleaning the bathroom floor as my sodding lovely children were playing with their water pistols in the garden yesterday - and filling them up in the bathroom (downstairs one) and trampled all over the bathroom tiles -grrr

Also waiting in for a delivery........

right I've sorted all the lego instructions, got getting a load of washing dried - just watching some of the Olympics at the moment as had to stop to give DS3 some milk.

Will watch this, get the boys some lunch, put DS3 down for a nap and then shower.

The stuff I was waiting in for has arrived - yipee

Bit late joining in with you all but good to have some company to keep me motivated this afternoon

We're heading on holiday tomorrow morning and my house is like a tip and haven't started packing yet, eek!

  • laundry and ironing
  • get cases out and start packing
  • tidy up kitchen, sweep and mop floor
  • vacuum and dust downstairs
  • water change goldfish tank
  • clean bathrooms

Going to have a quick coffee then hopefully transform myself into cleaning blitz form.

oh I'm so

I've just bought a basic carpet washer (Vax one) and used to one a few areas today. I knew my carpets were dirty - but my god on just those few bits that I've just tried it on the water was foul - ingly even with the amount of black water that was sucked up they still don't look great (although having read lots of reviews it would appear the dirtier your carpets are to start with the more cleans it needs to actually see the difference - although having said that the area around DS3's highchair is noticably better.

Hello Ladies, loads to do here as well, so will go off, mop the floor in the dining room, re-do felt on underside of chairs (to avoid scratching the floor) and perhaps even clean the bath. It's nice to have some company... see you in a bit!

ps FAQ, carpet cleaning is soooo satisfying! Soon you will start putting plastic sheeting down around the highchair, make everyone change into clean socks etc to protect the loveliness!

it was satisfying - not going to do any more today - give a few of the worst areas their first clean, will do some more tomorrow.

I'm not sure it will be that soon that I'll be doing the plastic sheeting and clean socks - they were pretty bad (the carpets) when we moved in almost 4yrs ago and haven't been cleaned since we moved in - and with 3 children......well you can imagine.

oh faq dont worry about i have had one for years when i first got it i took to cleaning my carpets daily because that water that came out of it was that black, it didnt get any better. i have comforted myself with the firm belief that there is something in the vax that makes the water go this colour

i have done the pans and the washer is ready for yet another load [groan] im a bit slow as dd1 is playing up and dd2 is ill. but dd1 is going out this afternoon and dd2 looks like she will nap so this afternoon i need to follow in faq's footsteps and vax the living room, tidy and clean bathroom and sweep kitchen floor.

I am considering having them done professionally when we next get one of those flyers through the door - then I can just do it regularly to keep them looking nice - now I look at them more closely they're AWFUL

well my one broke a while ago - and I bought (what I thought would be) a nice little iron - one of those cordless ones - it's SHIT. I'm not the best at keeping up with my laundry - but a shit iron certainly doesn't help lol

When we moved in, we borrowed a friends vax and cleaned the carpets. The water was thick and black
It is very satisfying though.

Just got back from shops.
Luckily friend is delayed so have time to do the last bit - hoovering.

I'm sure the kids will trash the place within 1/2 an hr anyway
