Taking something back to TK maxx with no reciept?

I brought a baby booster chair last week. Took the labels off and ripped up the receipt but it keeps tipping over with DD in. I want to take it back. I am sure there were seats in the shop without labels on and i could probably piece the reciept together if I got out bin. Or would they take it back and exchange it do you think? Thanks

i dont think they exchange anything without a receipt. try to put it together if you have it, it is better than nothing

You can't do normal returns without a receipt, but the Sale of Goods Act requires that any goods sold must be 'fit for purpose', so you just need to be able to prove you bought the item there and that it doesn't do what it should.

So if you ask for a refund and get the manager out if necessary, you should be OK.
