Morning all

TheMadHouse Fri 08-Aug-08 08:37:51

Well I had a good nights sleep and although I am still coughing feel much better.

Morning routine done apart from porridge (it is cooling).

We are off to an indoor soft play this morning with friends, I am picking her and the two boys up (so using my extra seats)

To Do

House tidy for the weekend
Hoover up and down
Mop down stairs
Sort dinner

Shanna I have a 24 month and a 3.4 year old and my routine is pretty much the same as EV's, only difference is that we have a snack at 3pm to push dinner back so that we can all eat and that my boys are noth in bed for 7

lucysmam Fri 08-Aug-08 08:56:39

Good Morning smile

Mad glad you're starting to feel better!! Have fun at soft play, we don't have anything like that near us, closest is an hour away

I am knackered!! Although not from lack of sleep, think its just because I've been trying to do the kitchen alone but never mind!

We're fed and dressed, oh still snoring so I had to climb over him and a pile of stuff he put at end of bed last night to bring lo down so not happy! Lo is playing so pots in a mo and another cuppa I think.

To Do today

oh's smelly footy stuff from last night in wm
get dad's birthday present & post
fil to fit cooker
make cake and shortbread in sparkly new cooker
get rid of old bathroom shelf and sort bottles of lotions and potions to throw
oh to strip damaged kitchen walls to replace tomorrow
sweep & mop kitchen & back hall
avoid my nosey next door neighbour who wants a look at new cooker & fridge but only to compare to hers!

TheMadHouse Fri 08-Aug-08 09:19:31

Right we are off.

I have managed to have breakfast and tidy the ensuing mess grin

Catch you all later

Morning all. Terrible night's sleep. Let DD1 sleep in her ready bed as a treat. First she lost her teddy then she woke up ready for the day at 5.45!!! It is deflating as I type.

Luckily I got a lie in as Dh took pity on me.

Morning routine done. DDs playing. Not sure how to fill the day though....

Ruby Ed has got into Lego in a big way. There are bits of Bionicles, City, racers and Freestyle everywhere shock.

I can't vac up without getting on my hands and knees and checking the floor. I can't go into Ed's room without slippers on a I tread on the gearing for helicopter proppellers.

Well it's improving his motor skills I suppose hmm

Hello to all. Just a quick post as I'm trying to make a difference to the house. Not having an ap here any more makes quite a difference and I want it to look okay for when the new one arrives in about 3 wks.

Ruby I'd like to be in on the Xmas countdown but I don't come on the FLY thread that often when I have an ap here. Will you be doing it on a certain day each week, do you think? Good luck with the interview and presentation. smile

go I need to order more of these from Lakeland Ltd. The smaller boxes are great for lego and knex type stuff. I've just looked at your list - you put me to shame! All I've really done so far is to get showered and dressed and tried on the clothes I'd ordered. I think I'm going to keep about a third of the items which'll please dh!

Right. I must dash. Oh, a list!

To do:-
~ cut the grass if it is dry enough - it wasn't yesterday when I checked. <sigh>
~ fetch ds from the camp where he has been most of the week at 1pm
~ fetch dd from her activity day at 4pm
~ write the holiday packing list incl the self catering list of must haves

Okay. I'll get cracking and come back later.

Simply Fri 08-Aug-08 11:00:12

Oh, yes. Date night. How many of us are doing that, then? Does anyone have ideas to share for a nice quiet night in for those of us who can't go out tonight? <<ponders>>

Thanks Ruby, I'll look out for the Monday thread then. smile

Ok. For the interview, you need to prepare. That means all the usual stuff. Read the job advert, job description, read up on the terms and conditions in case you've any queries re salary, holiday pay or whatever, think about how you'll get to the interview, the date and time it might/will be on and whether you'll need childcare, what you'll wear etc. You'll be fine! Hey, and I'm dh's lucky mascot so hopefully I'll give you successful vibes. smile

Right. I'm off now. I'll be back at noon.

lucysmam Fri 08-Aug-08 11:56:11

Ruby good luck with interview!

fil has finally fitted cooker, oh finally up but not dressed and we need to get off to asda as fil working later. today's really dragging!!!

EustaciaVye Fri 08-Aug-08 12:20:14

Ruby - that's fab! When will the interview be? Do you have something smart & comfortable to wear?

Simply Fri 08-Aug-08 12:29:28

Oh and Ruby I forgot to include thinking about any questions you have regarding the job itself, what skills and experience you can bring to the job, how familiar you are to working in that environment/team/type of work etc etc.

Okay. I've not done much it seems since I was last on! It was doing that Lakeland link that did it as I've been on the Lakeland website making up an order. It is far too big so I'm going to cut it in half! That'll have to wait until I've fetched ds. See you later!

grouchyoscar Fri 08-Aug-08 13:27:18

Simply I've thought about getting one of those boxes that they sell in DIY shops for nails and screws. Lots of ickle drawers smile

EHM Just discovered Sesame Tree on Cbeebies. That was nice (As I'm sick to death of scooby sodding soo

I have stopped packing. I'm sure we've got more than enough. Plus there is a cracking Poundshop on the front so we can pick up emergency supplies and panic buy there.

Further DONES

Made lunch
Sorted post
Helped Ed with the laptop
Packing and potterring

Hope to be back soon

Oh congrats to Ruby about the interview

giraffescantdancethetango Fri 08-Aug-08 14:47:58

Hiya I was out this morning so have done nothing. Now I have to -

Make beds - bit late I know lol
Tidy up
Clean counter tops
clean bathroom
do dishes
take bins out
clean out rabbits cage

grouchyoscar Fri 08-Aug-08 15:13:32

Right I've

Cleaned out the fridge (cos it was empty and grotty)
Swept the kitchen
Swept the front room
Mopped the kitchen
Mopped the bathroom
Mopped the front room (Ed helped with the mopping shock
Sitting down now as my legs have shouted at me hmm

Ruby Take a pad and pencil and ask for a glass of water, take a sip, write it down. Think of one example to answer the question take another drink, a deep breath and answer the question. Don't be embarrassed to pull on your experience as a mum. it's so easy to write it off as mundane but you have to run a home, entertain the kids, keep the place clean, keep appointments etc etc

TheMadHouse Fri 08-Aug-08 17:04:18

Congratualtions Ruby

I have hoovered up and downstairs
I have polished upstairs
General tidy upstairs
Stairs Hoovered

I am going to feed the boys and then:

Spot clean carpet upstairs
Bath the boys

I Plan to mop downstais once they have gone tobed

Simply Fri 08-Aug-08 17:28:27

Just a quickie as I'm hoping to have a game of chess in a mo whilst drinking my cup of tea.

~ cut the grass
~ fetch ds
~ fetch dd
~ several loads of washing
~ take ds to meet his lift to an activity

To do:-
~ write the holiday packing list incl the self catering list of must haves
~ prepare veg for tea

Back again later!

lucysmam Fri 08-Aug-08 17:31:25

I think that sounds like a nice outfit Ruby, should be smart enough and cool in the heat we've had recently. What job is it?
