Do you get water all over the floor when you do the washing up? Do you have a mat on the floor or something?

Am I just messy? How do you stop the floor getting awash?

I put a tea towel against the sink and lean against it, and wear an apron (I hate being wet!)

I always walk away from the sink with my stomach sodden wet. So less on the floor, more on my top.

that's not a deliberate act - not suggesting it is the way to stop the floor getting awash. Although... it does.

It's gross. Wet clothes are the most horrible feeling in the whole world. Gross.

I don't go out in the rain if I can possibly help it.

Strangely I don't get much water on myself, it all seems to go on the floor...

The water stays in the sink

Do you think maybe you're going about it a bit too enthusiastically?
