Kenwood or Kitchen Aid?

Which would you go for? I think the Kitchen Aid is prettier but it's a lot more expensive than the basic Kenwood. Nigella has a Kitchen Aid.....please help me decide (and persuade dh)

Kitchenaid - it's so very pretty which means you can leave it out the whole time and not forget to use it because it's at the back of a cupboard. I use mine to make bread, nan, pizza, mayo and loads of cakes! I paid much more than Sheherazade for mine and even DH (who a complete tight-arse) admits it was worth it.

Oooh - I will look at Amazon. That might help with dh - he likes buying stuff from Amazon - ok - it's usually cds but still

DP was the one that insisted that we get out Kitchen Aid!
It's beautiful. And makes excellent cakes.

Kitchenaid kitchenaid!! No contest, I have the Artisan (don't know what the classic is - sorry) and I love it soooo much. Apart from its good looks - it's a fantastic mixer.

The classic is the one on amazon and it looks to do everything I would want - it's just nearly £200 cheaper atm. Just wondering if I was missing something?

Nooooo!

Kenwood! Kenwood! Kenwood!

My granny has one, my Mum got one as a wedding present and it lasted 25 years of solid use. I love mine. It is truly the volvo of mixers .

Hi Liath
My mum has a Kenwood - they've been married over 30 years. I admit it's a temptation but the Kitchen aid is prettier

and...Nigella has one

My mum's Kenwood still going strong after 40 years! I love the idea of the "volvo of mixers"....But I am still agonising over kitchen aid,its all those lovely enamel colours. But then you have to decide on a colour which I can never do.

well if I go with classic then it looks like it's just white - which is fine and easy. If the Kenwoods a volvo - what's the Kitchen Aid?

It's a porsche, NL. The Hairdresser's car of the mixer world .

Nooooo! My mil and mum have Kenwoods - they are the old ladies of mixers.

Kitchenaids are funky and trendy and look good enough to have out on display.

Who wants a Volvo on their worktop?

Ok - maybe the car comparison isn't to helpful after all then.....

I've got a Kenwood Patissier. Looks a bit like a KitchenAid for a lot less money and does the job fine.

Well, that's just a pretendy Kitchen Aid

Habbibu · 04/07/2008 22:42

It lasts For Ever. Haven't seen any 40 yo KA's on here, have you? They're all buffed and shiny and Not Used Because They're Too Pretty. And Kenwoods can peel potatoes and make ice cream
