Ironing sheets
Washing carpets twice a year
Generally spending hours every day cleaning. She thinks I am a slattern.

getting the hoover out for the slightest sign of crumbs.

washing rice.

doing all the washing on a monday etc
and turning down offers of a social occassion because 'oh no i do all my jobs on a monday'

Saving up leftovers for several weeks, then making a "casserole" from them.
Also saving the dripping from roasts in a bowl in the fridge shudders.

Cleaning, washing clothes, baking and having a meal on the table at 6pm. Bizarre .

My Mum - washing suacepans in different sink to other dishes, rinsing dishes before she washes them or puts them in the dishwasher.

MIL - cleaning behind the TV weekly, washing kichen floor daily, keeping her iron in the box it came in, still in the plastic bag with the wee black tie round it....

my mum will put say some Jam tarts that are leftover in a cupboard so the cats dont get them

but it suprises you to reach for a plate and there is a jam tart ont he end of your finger.

y mum bleahces and reuses cloths

also FLOOR cloths are old pants

when ds was about one she said "when he goes for his nap we can get down to washing those doors"
I said "when he goes for his nap I am putting my feet up. You are a loon."

i remember my mil coming to stay when ds2 was born and staying for a looong time. every time he went to sleep she would say 'right lets get these jobs done' and i would want to weep because all i wanted to do was lie on the sofa and drool sleepily while staring mindlessly at the tv.
