Which integrated slimline dishwasher do you recommend?

Looking for one that washes well, obviously, and also rinses well, without leaving a slimy residue on the dishes. (My existing one does this!)

Have you tried giving it a good clean out by running it with no dishes and with soda crystals instead? May keep it going a bit better?

Ours is a Neff slimline integrated dishwasher. Pretty good all round. We live in a hard water area so need to make sure it has good quality tablets/salt etc.

I'd recommend.

We have a Bosch one and it’s very good. We use a dishwasher cleaner every few weeks or so to keep the inside clean and none of the manky build up you can get.

@Elieza I’ve not tried that - I’ll give it a go. The dishwasher was bought in 2006, though so it’s pretty old! Do you put soda crystals in the compartment for the dishwasher tablet?

@RedRosie and @277xo Where did you buy your dishwashers, please? Thanks!

Bosch, wherever is cheapest. But ideally John Lewis as I want them to survive Covid.

@Jessie2345679 I got mine as part of a new kitchen a couple of years ago ... But John Lewis is where I would go and I'm sure they do Neff appliances. You have less choice with integrated/slimline.

I just put about 250-300g of the pack of soda crystals into the bottom of the dishwasher on its floor just near the salt container and the debris filter. Not in a compartment. And ran it through three times at 65 degrees. It dissolves the gunk inside and in your pipe. Empty the debris filter too as it could be blocked with a wrapper or something.

Nowadays the programmes all seem so long. Mine was 90mins but a lot of them seem to be more on these new machines. How dirty can the dishes be!!

If I’d had the money and needed a new dishwasher I’d get Bosch again. With a time left to run count down display, if I had the cash, as it’s so handy to know when it will be done.

Just replaced Bosch integrated with standard slimline Bosch one. More space inside. It is called serie 2 silence plus.

Liking it so far.

Got fed up of paying double prices for integrated white goods

Don’t buy from curries. I know two people who have bought appliances from there and both have had leaks. Fair enough shit happens, but one Currys took back the leaky delivery and six weeks later has still not refunded her so she can’t buy another (why they just couldn’t just bring another and swap them is beyond me) and the other is leaking from the outflow pipe as it’s not tight enough (after paying for fitting which includes checking for leaks) so has water on the floor and there’s an electric ext lead under there, really dangerous. Was on the online chat and the assistant said she could help as the whole unit would need uplifting (after checking with her boss they couldn’t just get the installer back) so you need to phone for an uplift code. After an hour she still was on hold and gave up. It’s not a freephone number either it’s lo call. Sounds like they have gotten so big that they are providing a service which is pathetic. Unable to bring out a replacement while they uplift the other is not common sense. It’s a waste of diesel, bad for the environment and wasting resources. I don’t even know if the fitters are properly trained. That may explain the poor fitting if they are not.

Disgraceful. I will never buy from there now I know that. Both people are honest normal people, not liars. Both purchases within the last two months. I know Covid is changing things but that’s just bad service.

Oh and they charge £100 to fit a fridgefreezer. Why? You just leave it to stand and plug it in do you not. What’s the £100 for! It’s not like it’s a gas fitter who has to be specially trained as gas potentially kills, it’s a fridge ffs (a thin regular style one not an American one)

Yeah, avoid Currys.

People recommending dishwashers - do they do a good 30-minute wash? Where I lived previously I had a Beko slimline dishwasher that washed everything really well in 30 mins. Looking online, so far I’ve not been able to find an integrated version of that machine.

Does anyone happen to have bought this dishwasher? It only has one 2-star review from someone who couldn't work out how to use it, but some people are rubbish at operating things, so it would be good to have more opinions! www.johnlewis.com/bosch-serie-2-spv2hkx39g-integrated-slimline-dishwasher-with-home-connect-a-energy-rating-white/p5095447

Have you looked at reviews on other sites?

I use AO for appliances. I find them better than JL to deal with.

Can I ask how easy it was to change to a standard dishwasher from integated? For example did the kickborad that runs the length of the cabinet run have to be replaced?

I need to replace my integrated slimline and there's a much bigger choice in the standard ones.

Thanks Smile

@MJMG2015 That’s very interesting to hear. The exact same dishwasher is available from AO but I was thinking of getting it from JL because of their reputation for customer service, but maybe I should in fact get it from AO! Do you know how good their after sales care is? I bought a washer dryer from JL last year and when there was an issue with it they sent someone out free of charge to fix it.

Watching with interest! Ao gave me the option of the Bosch, Siemens, Belling and Miele. Belling by far the cheapest and still decent reviews although one by someone who had never used a dishwasher before and gave 5 stars for thw fact of not having to do her own washing up

My Aunty has bough a Freezer & separate Fridge from JL this past 12 months and has had nothing but trouble!

My FF - the guys delivering it were brilliant & the noticed a 'ding' on the door when unpacking it, which they could have ignored but didn't. They arranged with the 'office' to leave it with me & have a new door sent to me. (I preferred this option as I had a grocery delivery arriving) & as it was on the pandemic they told me that they'd get someone to fit the door fir me whenever I wanted it done, no matter when that is. Which I appreciated as I didn't want anyone else in the house.

10 years ago I got a washing machine & it wasn't as quiet as I'd expected it to be and they swapped it, without any fuss at all.

I find them brilliant to deal with.
