Flies in conservatory

Any advice on the best way to keep flies away? I love opening the doors wide in the warm weather but end up with dozens of the buggers.
I've tried the sticky papers (laid them in the recess in coving), and I'm tempted to try the RedTop fly catcher that you hang outside but it looks disgusting.🤮
Has anyone solved their fly problem?

Following with interest as I have just been cleaning my conservatory I wiped around the smaller opening windows with dettol and 5 minutes later I heard buzzing to see 2 flies had chosen to land ON the wiped area.

Hopefully someone will have a suggestion for both of us.

I just live with it!
They fly in and out through the day and I vacuum up the dead ones in the morning.

That's what I'm having to do, it's a grim job. I just hate sitting there listening to them bounce off the roof or dive-bombing me whilst I'm eating my dinner.

The red top fly catchers work. And if you keep them replaced ongoing you get fewer and fewer each season

Our conservatory is totally the Million Dead Flies Zone. I have no idea where they come from or why they die in their dozens every day. We've never managed to resolve it and the only solution is to hoover up the corpses on a daily basis.

we once lived in a house that had cluster-flies. they came from the field of cows and laid eggs in the roof tiles and window cracks and came into the house in the 1000s. They had to be hovered up everyday and it was horrible.

Get screen doors! I just cannot understand why homes in the UK have no screens at all? Especially when most areas have some form of flying insect coming into their home. Either a fly issue, others near farm land get mayflies, others midges and mosquitos.

I have the red top thing ready to set up. Does it really stink? Just trying to work out where to put it that it's doesn't poss off the neighbours.

Fly papers work but they are fugly and get in the way. I found some flower shaped ones but the flies are avoiding them so far Angry

Thanks for all the suggestions. I might try a red top. We have a field of cows literally metres away so that is obviously causing a problem.
