Anybody else taking this time to deep clean?...

Spent some time today:
Cleaning all my horizontal blinds today, couldn't believe how dusty they had gotten! Cleaned and organised the fridge and freezer in the kitchen and the garage in prep for my Ocado delivery tomorrow, (hopeful!)
Reorganised, cleaner and de-cluttered my shoe closet.

Sunday mowing the lawn and weeding.

Monday cleaning the windows.

Tuesday moving furniture and dusting / vacuuming behind.

Wednesday emptying and cleaning cutlery drawers.

Thursday reorganising and cleaning my makeup and brushes.

How about you?...

I plan to do this too. Started today by cleaning all the skirting throughout the house.

Yes. I pulled out my sofas today. The dust underneath them was embarrassing.
I was thinking of making a list of the stuff that needs doing.

I have a spring cleaning plan. I started on the kitchen cupboards today.

Oh yes I carpet shampooed today, ashamed of the water that was being sucked back up off the carpets, but they look good now. Downstairs getting done soon

Yes. Husband has already started painting also.
We have started on the garden

Yep! Painted the front room and in the process of moving the sofa got engrossed in cleaning and disinfecting underneath - not been done in ages and lots of little mummified souvenirs from baby led weaning days last year lol.

We have enough paint to do everywhere I think.

Got in some new scrubbers so looking forward to a bathroom session with them when I can get the little one to nap as he likes to "help" bless him.

I have washed out the recycling bin.

Airing in the garden now. (The bin - not me)

I plan to wash my carpets next week with my new carpet washer I bought two weeks ago!

Wow! In a couple of months, we will all have sparkling and organised houses!

Another one... hoover the inside of my car!

Wash the sofa seat covers and cushion covers! It's sunny where I am till Tuesday, so I plan to take advantage of washing stuff!

Kitchen cabinet fronts cleaned properly , shelves and handles given more than their usual cursory wipe.

Proper stocktake of food in kitchen cupboards- all those small things like half used ground almond packets.

Washed inside windows ( the bright sunlight would have prompted that anyway today )

I cleaned the fridge yesterday.

I am planning on a good spring/deep clean. However I work from home (full time) & am now home educating 2 dc so I have less time not more.

Our home is over 3 levels. I plan to start at the top and work my way down also decluttering as I go. By the time I get to the bottom everything should be in the right place, or in the garage ready to carboot (when we can carboot again).

I’ve been doing a 20 minute declutter every day. It’s made a big difference already.
I’m trying to keep it it small and sustainable.

Today is garden day which I’m really looking forward to.

Yes. I did last weekend. Then DD came home from university and the house is a tip again Grin
But it is a clean tip.

Hopefully I'll get round to some deep cleaning, but we're long overdue a good declutter first. DP has started bringing boxes of work home with him and intends to set up in the living room. I'm looking at the crap he already has laying around and thinking it's going to be a long few months if we don't get rid of some stuff first! Need to finish off painting my bedroom and kitchen, then hopefully some semblence of order will happen.

One thing I really need to do is clean the roof of the conservatories. Does anyone have a good method for this? I'm thinking the pressure washer would damage the polycarbonate, so a soft long handled brush and some hot soapy water might be the way to go?

As the weather has been so nice this weekend I washed all the cushion covers and throws downstairs, Tomorrow I’m going to do all the dressing gowns, towels and bath matts as the weather looks good again.

The only positive thing that might come out of this situation is that a lot of people’s homes might be a lot cleaner and organised when we come out of this.

Might tackle the blinds this week haven’t been do since the last day of November just before Christmas decs went up.

Well, in between having to go to work, I am. (Because I don't have Cubs or Sailing, which takes up most of my weekends, as I am an adult volunteer with both).

So on Saturday, I finally cleared off the dining table, and gave that a good scrub. Wax polished it. DD gave the floor underneath a very good hoovering, and decided that 4 of the seat cushions (the skinny ones that will dry relatively quickly) needed a wash also. We are waiting another few weeks for the seat pads on the proper chairs as they will take a few days to dry.

I also scrubbed the bannisters, to get rid of greasy hand grime that had built up. (And accidentally took off the varnish in 2 small points - oops). But that made a huge positive difference.

DH has painted the ceiling and radiator in the bathroom (on the list at least 18 months). And he has also cleared out the back garden of undergrowth and dug over the veg bed (annual spring jobs that are a few weeks behind with other priorities).

We have done paint testers in DD's room and chosen a new colour for her walls (also on the list for 2 years) and that paint has been bought. Doing her room will also involve deep cleaning.

I have a few more jobs on the list for next weekend - sowing veg seeds, cleaning bathroom tiles, washing all downstairs windows inside and out, finishing deep cleaning dining room.

And then a longer list as things go on. I used to try and do a 14 week deep cleaning over the autumn to get to the whole house, but hadn't managed that last autumn as we were so busy. So I will try to get to that over the next while instead. In between work etc.

Oh, a majorly overdue item that is top of next weekend's list is to oil the wooden worktops in the kitchen!!!

I would love love love to be deep cleaning my house but I'm 32 weeks pregnant and I've got severe SPD in my right leg so everything is just wishful thinking at the moment.
Roll on summer when baby boy is out and I can join in! I'm making a "things to achieve on maternity leave. " board in the mean time so I feel like I have some goals set!
