Ooh, sorry, hit post too soon.

Mould is a bugger to get out, have ruined some of DS's shirts by accidentally forgetting to turn on the tumble dryer - those mould spots just don't come out.

I'd make a bleach solution and soak soak soak. Then try washing again with the whitener.

Otherwise - bin' em, I'm afraid!

thanks littlelupin, I stupidly didn't even think of bleach.

the frustrating thing is all my windows are non standard sizes so the nets have to be made to measure (and unfortunately we have condensation/bad ventilation problems because its a very old house - I try to open the windows every day to air through but not always practical to do this in winter)

I know I hate nets too really but we live too close to the path so need some privacy (I only have them on 3 windows so not too bad)

How about blinds that you can twiddle so you can see out but still have some privacy. can't think of name. (horizontal slats) Or voile curtains.
