URGENT: can I really wash dirty trainers in the washing machine?

yes, but they may not be quite the same afterwards, depends on how good a construction, I usually go for a 40 quick wash.

Done it loads of times, synthetic cycle 40C

Never done expensive trainers though.

I just put them in a 40 degree wash with the rest of the stuff.

it's a very loved pair, I don't want to ruin them. short cycle at 30 maybe?

put inside a pillowcase or the laces could tangle in your machine and a hefty repair bill!

I always soak them in the sink and give them a scrub first (inside and out), then a normal wash at 40 like anorak, but 30's probably just as good for washing and possibly safer .

I have washed my trainers in the washing machine at 40 degrees. I would think that the less leathery material there is on them, the better they would come out. Mine have a lot of softer canvassy type material and came out of the wash with no problem.

I put them in wrapped in towels so they don't bang against the drum. They come out like brand new Wash at either 30 or 40 gentle wash.
