Morning all

I haven't read thread from yesterday but noticed an excess of hugs for EHM and Ludaloo.....hope things are better for you both (and all the poorly children) today.

School intake is always confusing. There is the legal requirement (term after 5 th birthday ) and the local tradition (if every school in your area starts them at just 4 what else can you do?) I had one start at just 4 and one at almost 5 but it hasn't affected either of them noticably. The differences now are definitely due to their personalities . 5 yr old starter was very slow to get going despete having had longer at nursery, plus a year of school nursery which dd1 didn't get at all, but is doing well(ish) now.

Anyway, not interesting to anyone but me

I have lots of housework to catch up on, plus job hunting for dpAlso shopping and baking this morning.

I hope everyone is good, and I will be back later with a list.

SS I picked up the package last night, and it is all there, beutifully ironed and just what I wanted. Thankyou. I will try and email you later today.

Morning Jas and all that follow!

EHM How is Ellie today?

luda how are your poorly lo's? Hoping it was just a 24 hours thing.

Havnt read thread from yesterday either.

Baby ds had his Jabs yesterday afternoon and he is fine, cried for about 5 mins afterwards then that was it. My brave boy.

My mission today is done, We have a long thin hallway so if we cluttered it up with crap we wouldnt get out the door! So just shoe rack which I do everyday anyway, boys are incapable of putting them a further few inches onto the bloody thing LOL

Here's my list:

Dress baby DS
Drop DP off at work
school run
Tescos for parcel paper
wrap ebay parcels
put dishes away
put washing away
1 load washing
need to do some photo printing today
post ebay parcels and photos to family

Thats pretty much it, i did 15 mins birsts last night in most rooms again.

Better go dress baby we need to leave at 8!

Have a good day all, will pop on later

Jx

Jas - interesting to me. I was talking about school starting ages with someone yesterday!

Knackered and slovenly at the moment so will attempt to catch up today. All missions have been in the hall right? I will do that later today and then feel like I'm good.

Thanks for the thread Jas. I'm glad the clothes suit your needs. I can't remember if you or luda said a dh/dp was allergic to cats. Please remember that cat hairs seem to get everywhere and there could be the occasional one in the bag!

Julez A daft (more than likely) thought crossed my mind re: the shoes. Could you once a week put little gifts in the shoe rack and say that they are there for good children who put their shoes away every day as a reward? Btw, I do have bizarre ideas on a regualar basis - ask anyone who knows me!

Hi GS.

Will go and have brekkie now. Back later!

Morning all Thanks for the thread Jas
Our local school likes (although doesn't insist on) children to start school in the Sept after their 4th birthdays. They can join the class anytime during the reception year but have to be in school full time by the term after their 5th birthday. Ds will be 4 next month so will be starting in reception class in Sept - he seems very young compared to those who will be in his class and turning 5 in Sept/Oct but I think he'll be OK. He's very keen to move up to school which is good to see

We're having a bad time with dd at the moment not sure if it's the difficulty of being back at school after our holiday or what but she's been very bad tempered and is making us all feel (and sometimes )...don't know a way round this behaviour which seems to come round on a regular basis....getting me down

Other than that - the house is still a mess so I need to get on with more jobs today - no end in sight. Will be back in a bit with a list I expect...

Morning All

We've been up bright & early today. Very busy as my Mum arrives this afternoon. I am going to meet her off the train at Kings Cross. She's not see Ellie for 9 weeks.

The starting times does appear to change region to region very confusing. I think Ellie starts nursery here when she is 2 and goes to school when she is 5. Although I have to put her name down for both very soon?

tort thanks for the huggles. I Like the sound of the egg & bacon pie...yum. Glad dd liked hour at school.
Hi to aufish from yesterdays thread too
A big {HUG} to jas for the thread
shouldbe sorry to hear about dd being grumpy, hope she is back to normal very soon{{hugs}}
julez glad your ds was ok after his injections.I cried a couple of times when Ellie was a tiny baby(i am such a wuss).Ellie appears a little better this morning thanks for asking.Although coughing like an old man who has smoked all his life this morning

Here they go to pre-school from 2 years 9 months and then goes to school the September after their 4th birthday which means they could be 4.1 or 4.11 depending on their birthday. Law says they must go the term after their 5th birthday.

Morning jas thanks for the thread. Thanks also for the well wishes.

Thankyou too to tort, Julez and EHM It does appear to have been a 24 hour bug. The kids are all much better. Only mare is I have the sh@*ts (as does ds )

I guess that is mildly better than being sick though.

shouldbe ((Huggles)) for you....It is hard isn't it when they have their off days. Stay calm and try to ignore it would be my advice (bloody hard though I know)

SS your bright ideas make me ! I never think of such clever things!

Hello to glasss

This school uptake thing is confusing isn't it! I think ds will really enjoy it though. I am more worried about the few months he is left at nursery while his pals have all gone up to school!

Well I'm stuck in the house AGAIN! Illness and weather decree

Will be back in a bit with a list.

Report
shouldbe · 05/07/2007 09:34

Luda good news that you are (mostly) on the mend - hope you and ds shake it off fully today.

I'm feeling and am not getting anything done.

There are piles of washing on the kitchen table - some are still damp from yesterdays rain, the clothes horse is loaded up, the td is on, it's still spitting outside.....grrr - where do I put it all to dry?!

Have remembered I'm supposed to help at school again this morning so need to get my act together for that and so will miss FLY time this morning.

Have to go and buy dd new plimsols after school cos the school have managed to lose hers while we were away - annoying for the sake of only a couple of weeks left in the term.

Whole house needs serious attention.

shouldbe Hello there. Sorry things are not easy with wet washing everywhere. E-mail me if you want to. I should have gone out for the morning but have only just managed to prise dd and her friend off the sofa to get ready for us to go out. Grrrr. Inset day here, you see.

My poor babys legs are all bruised where he had them all yesterday, is this normal? He didnt get it with his other 2 lots. Poor love

Going to do a bit more....

No, Luda I haven't tacked the washing pile - hope to in a minute cos ds needs the table cleared so he can eat some lunch! Hope you're feeling better? x
SS thanks

I've been and done my stint at the school - it's helped ease my mood with dd a little to see that actually all 6 year olds are pretty annoying and moody. lol!

When I collected ds from pre-school they asked if I was really going to send him up to school and couldn't they keep him longer "cos he's so lovely" made me ...but he'll still be heading to school come Sept Then one of the staff mentioned she'd be dropping some papers round to the house for me this afternoon and so I've come home and had a much needed quick blitz brought on by fear of anyone else setting foot through the door! Downstairs looks OK now (other than the washing of course!)

Better go and get some lunch sorted, back later x

shouldbe I love helping at school. It always makes me feel better about my kids

luda No more vomiting must be seen as progress. I hope you are all well soon.

EHM thanks

I've shopped , banked and baked this morning. I need to clean up here now.
Second load is in the w/m , first lot on the line, big black clouds are looming again, so the t/d may have to go on again.

I think Iwill do some 15 min bursts instead of doing a list, and come back and report my progress.

Hello again, just sneaking on here again quickly as visitor and DP are on a game, visitor is going home today and as much as I've enjoyed having him here, he's completely unhouse trained, ie, leaving the toilet seat up and using the same teaspoon for the sugar and coffee and then leaving it on the kitchen side, I need my house back!!!

Tomorrow I will be back with a list as long as my arm, cleaning up after a messy man!

Hope you feel better soon luda.

My friend/neighbour is taking DD1 out for the day tomorrow For the whole day! So rather than tooing and froing between pre-school, I'll be able to get on with catching up on the housework and playing with DD2. I'm sure just one day will make such a difference...

Aww Luda hope you're soon feeling better
Glasslipper enjoy your day tomorrow - I love a day with no kids, even if it is only used to catch up with housework
Tort is everything OK? Hope so x x (will try to be on MSN later but can't promise cos dh needs the computer...)

I had some time in the garden this afternoon before the worse of the rain set in - it was lovely and relaxing I've cleared some of the stuff that had collected by the front door so am counting that as a done for one of the missions earlier in the week. We all trooped into town after school to get dd some plimsols and ended up coming away with new wellies for dd and ds too - we're going to a festival this weekend so I think we'll need them!

Better go and read bedtime stories - kids will be in bed by 7 - I'm tired and a little bit grumpy so need a bath and a glass/bottle of wine!

See you later/tomorrow x
