So I got a pack in the pound store and not sure what they can be used for but have read they are great.

Give me some ideas please.

No advice but watching.

I've bought some and tried using them but they disintegrate really quickly. Confused

I don't understand them. They just make a crumbly mess.

They're good for getting rid of hand prints up your walls! You know... At the level your kids always run their hand as they walk up the stairs.

They're also amazing for cleaning shower screens.

Oh, and for biro on the wall. And marks on skirting boards.

I wet it with hot water, squeeze it out, wipe a section, dry with towel, wipe next section, dry, etc. If it crumbles at the edges, just cut the crumbly end off with scissors.

Should have said, don't scrub your walls really hard. It can take paint off. Just a gentle couple of rubs! I take no responsibility for anyone who scrubs paint off their wall. Test on an inconspicuous area first, blah blah blah

They are great for shower screens, chrome fixings on toilets if they are a little "dingy", wiping hand prints from walls, pans - v little I have found they can't clean.

We don't have a dishwasher and we use them for the reactions in mugs or on tea spoons. Also great for any burnt on deposits on the ceramic job or on baking tins and trays.

I cleaned all my white walls throughout my house with these before Christmas- 6 years with of child hand prints. But it’s a temporary solution as I need to get it repainted. Still it worked and everyone thought we had repainted😉

They are literally magic! There isn't much I have found that cannot be cleaned with a magic eraser. I have used them for cleaning: marks off a wall, pen marks, the shower door, skirting boards, oven dishes (that always seem to end up with marks from cooking lasagne), shoes and more.

The key is to cut them into smaller sections so they don't disintegrate before you have cleaned everything. E.g if you have a small pen mark on a door cut off a small part of the eraser.

Cut off a piece just large enough for the job in hand. Wet it and use it. You might get more use from that one piece.
I use them for removing writing off plant labels. They're great for cleaning tiles.

Would they get tea stains off a stainless steel sink (not mine, it's one that drives me potty at the community centre I visit)?

I think baby oil gets stains off sinks.

Metal marks off ceramics and quartz - eg pot scrapes on kitchen worktops, and in my case an aluminium ladder strike on a bathroom sink.

I always happily whisper to the magic sponge "Is magic your main ingredient?"

How are they not more of a thing?

Pen on walls, scuff marks on walls, shoe polish on walls, transfer from picture frames or scuffs from picture frames on walls.

Spot the theme Grin

They are basically like very fine sandpaper so they are removing the surface

I cleaned DS1's white school trainers when they were handed down to DS2 and they honestly looked as clean as the day I bought them. Great for cleaning the white bits of converse trainers too.
