[santa][santa][santa][santa][santa][santa][santa]
A warm welcome to the December (dare I say Christmas?!) Flylady thread. This is a lovely friendly thread where we loosely follow the Flylady system (see the Flylady website ) in the hope of having organised homes and lives.

We are a long running thread but always welcome new members; the more the merrier Smile.

The new slimline structure seems to work well so I will stick with that. I will leave some links in this OP and then some quick links in the daily posts. Please do familiarise yourself with the Flylady website, especially if you are new. The Flylady is (understandably) keen that people do look at the website.

On the website there is information for beginners. You can also sign up to the Flylady emails but we would advise caution as there are hundreds of them.

We post our achievements (ta das) and our to do lists and any other general chatter about life / flying.

Information on getting started: www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

The launch pad is also a good starting place:www.flylady.net/c/lp.php

Fly stands for Finally Loving Yourself. The general idea is that short bursts of tidying / organisation are more achievable than marathon efforts. Flylady advises 15 minute bursts is effort but you can tweak this to fit your own circumstances.

Be kind to yourselves, jump in where you are and be careful not to crash and burn! Especially at this time of year.

A daily summary (which should update automatically every day) is available on the Flylady website at flight plan here.

The link to the current zone and missions is here.

Re. zones, do what works for you. I don’t always stick to the zones myself and do what works best at the time, with varying degrees of success!

daily focus

missions for the week

Flykids mission

I’m sure I don’t need to tell anyone that it is getting close to Christmas so there are holiday missions here.

December’s habit is usually pampering yourself but has not uploaded yet; I’ll link it tomorrow.

beginner babysteps.

The best place to look for an overall summary is the launch pad.

Happy flying everyone.

Also a huge thank you to SC for a lovely November thread. FlowersCakeBrewWine

Sort the paperwork, again.
We're now getting all the hospital reports for DH as well so need to sort out medical folders for each of us - have brought the popper folders - they're sitting there daring me to use them. Hmm

Will try and catch up with how everyone's doing.

Thanks for the new thread Stressy

That made me smile Hills, can I join you?!

Had a bad night which started with 3 hours of 16 month DS uncontrollably screaming, clawing at me in panic, and flinging himself around. All because he had just one bite of another girls' malted milk... I'm that rattled that it's driven me to post in AIBU ShockBlush

Hope everyone has a good day xxx

Thanks for running the last few threads SC thank you for running the December thread Stressy!

Started the morning far to slowly for what needs to be achieved today.

ta da
plan all the things
look into some stuff for ds
discuss christmas stuff with ds' dad
1st load of washing is on and washing is starting to accumulate for the mass wash all the things that Saturday has become.
3 boxes of stuff from lounge have been moved into my room for me to put away later (2 of the boxes are sorted and need a space as is, 1 washing to put away.)

I am about to go print all the things and actually get on with clearing all the space to wash the carpet. Joy, fun. NOT.

You are never rude Foxes [hands over paracetamol] and thank you Hills*; I must admit it's frightening how fast eight weeks goes! [Gulp.]

Waves to Dani Cag Meet Bower and everyone else!

Ta da:
walked furry
emptied and filled DW
cleaned and tidied kitchen surfaces
TD overnight washing
2 more loads on
supermarket shop

  • quick flit to chemist and bakery
    folded pants and towels
    carried laundered washing upstairs

Box gate continues ...we are going through the three stages of decluttering (well, how they pan out in our household anyway):
  1. very reluctant start with lots of moaning
  2. dusty tedium - exfreme weariness - and over-riding thoughts of agh gawd why did we ever start this?
  3. building momentum - let's get rid - whoo hooooo it's done!

Grin

Play room (now TV room) and second floor finished. Now 1st floor to do (ie my clothes) so wish me luck!

Then DD and I are off to watch Swan Lake tonight 💖💖💖

Hope everyone is keeping warm and having as good a weekend as humanly possible!

Washings trickling down stairs,no clean cups/crockery/cutlery,no surfaces available in front room, zoolets rooms are stys past what a pig would be ashamed of

Must admit Zoo I wanted all three of us to go, but tickets were so €€€€€€€€€ that dh is having an evening by himself watching the footie (we are taking a ballet friend of dd's with us). I don't know how people afford it on a regular basis!

It's not just for pleasure either: DD has to complete an in-depth cultural project in French every term taking in a cultural event or performance (have to include tickets in portfolio for proof of attendance) , so last term's was on the Louvre, and this term's she's chosen Swan Lake. Can't do anything just for enjoyment's sake of course in this ed system! Confused

I do like going to the ballet around Christmas time though so I'm happy to be a hanger on/escort !

Busy already on here! I have finished work and am off quickly to the shops while DH still has both DDs at home. It is to help him as am returning an online thing that wasn’t right and as I was at work near the shop it made sense.

We are going out tonight Shock. Tbh I am not looking forward to it, house not very clean and we have a babysitter coming for the first time to the house. However, it’s to a friend’s party so hopefully will be ok.

It’s going to be tight for time to get ready and get stuff sorted for babysitter thogh, also wanted to get DDs ready for bed before we went.

zoo, oh no re. your foot. Hope you get to sit down and ice it later. foxes, hope you are starting to feel better or at least that you get through the day. Bus nearly here so BBL!

The shops were so busy Shock. Finished now, then need to drive home and sort tea out etc so am enjoying my 15 MN hte sit down on the bus.

Love your examples of feelings about decluttering SCGrin. Enjoy the ballet Smile. You sound as if you’ve had a productive day already Hills, even if you did start later than planned.

Hope your DS feels better soon dani, it must be very stressful.

I tend to ignore the declutter your car tasks Bower Blush.

Big wing flaps to Meet, Cag, and everyone else.
