Dyson cordless?

egdehsdrawkcab · 07/08/2018 22:35

I'm very tempted by a Dyson cordless for our new house which is a townhouse with no less than 5 small staircases Confused

Given that we are shelling out for a lovely new carpet, I would like to keep it clean, and the thought of lugging my Henry up and down the stairs is filling me with dread.

Any thoughts on cordless vacs, Dyson in particular? I don't want to spend a fortune and amazon have the V7 on offer.....

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes do it!!! I hoover everyday at least once. I’ve been through a range of vacuums, Miele upright - amazing but so so heavy and cumbersome, shark lift off - okay, but not wow and broke within months, gtech air ram- good hoover but no attachments meant I needed to use my handheld too, so I was quite happy when it blew up after less than a year. This brings us to the V8 animal. It is absolutely amazing, everything I could ask for in a hoover. It picks up well, I only use ‘max’ for the rug in my sons room (as he has severe dust allergy) the attachments cover everything I could ask for. The battery life
Is great and it stores away so easily. I would absolutely 100% recommend it. It is a lot of money but it really has taken the chore out of hoovering even the kids are happy to whip it out

Omg do it!!!! The best money I have spent. We have carpet in most rooms and it is amazing on it. I actually find the suction is a bit too powerful on max so I just leave it on regular mode unless there is a big mess. I can do my whole house on 1 charge (4 bedroom house). I honestly use my vacuum at least 2-3 times a day now as it’s so quick and easy to use. I can also clean my car on 1 charge too.

Fantastic, except you're all selling me the more expensive model! Only real difference I can see is the battery life, 30mins for the V7, 40+ on the V8.....

I love mine! Not sure what model it is though, doesn’t matter, my next one will also be a handheld dyson.

Got one as a wedding gift it was so good we got one with an extension too for carpets. (First one was literally handheld if that makes sense)

I've got the v6. Works well with the brush head on, and the stair brush attachment is very good. Excellent of a quick nip round rather than plugging in the normal vacuum.
As a hand held though, with the long pole and brush head off, its total crap, no suction and can't even suck up a cobweb.

I hate mine. Would never buy another Dyson. Sharks are great though.

I have V6 Absolute and my brother has V6 Animal. Fantastic for stairs. They are best on thick carpets though as the suction can be too much on my crappy thinnest of the thin carpet in the hall of my rental.

I gave up my Dyson for a Shark. Never would have thought I'd do that!

Have the v7 animal

I tested a few & that was my favourite as I have RA & the others were too heavy for my wrist.

Love it!

Only difference I can see between the v7 and the v7 animal is colour (and extra head attachment).... and it's currently cheaper! Thanks for all the encouragement- it's ordered!

Going against the grain, I hate mine! Going to get a shark soon.
I also have a town house and the dyson just doesn’t hold a charge long enough for me I’m afraid, and full power mode (which I need for good suction) reduces the vacuuming time even more.

Love mine!

A word of warning, with new carpets it will fill up VERY quickly. Like, emptying multiple times per room quickly. But don't worry, it does settle down after a couple of months.
