... and the rain poured onto the duvet. Feather duvet. Have stripped and changed the bed and duvet. Have put cover in the wash. But how best to dry the duvet?? It’s currently hanging over the bannister. Is it likely to be ruined??

That’s a shame
Wash duvet with cap of dettol in it Unlikely to be ruined but air dry if you can

DD has a feather duvet and occasionally wets the bed, I have always washed hers and line dried it if possible or popped it in the tumble drier and all seems fine so I’m sure yours will be ok!

If you can fit it in the tumble drier, that would be best, as it fluffs the feathers up.
If not, I'd take it to a laundrette when it's almost dry, for a fluff up.

It'll be fine on the bannisters but it'll take a fair while to dry. Keep fluffing it up every hour or so.
I washed my feather duvet every year and dried it like this, either on the line or over the bannisters depending on the weather. It was lovely. Then one time I left it unattended in the launderette and came back to find someone had "mixed up" their polyfibre duvet with my feather one and had taken the wrong one home Angry. I'm still stuck with the crappy replacement I had to buy quickly.

Tumble dry at laundrette is best they need to be really dry so feathers don't mould
No problem getting wet I wash mine yearly they just need to dry well

Thanks everyone. It’s nearly dry. Have been shaking it every time I go upstairs so looks like it should be ok. Fingers crossed!!
