Sticky washing machine

I took a new bra out the wash yesterday and it felt sticky along with the net bag I put it in. I've since done two drum cleans with nothing in and clean around the rubber seal and it's still sticky. I've done a delicates wash with no detergent and done some rinse cycles and it's slightly less sticky but still sticky. I can only think this is because my DD's school t shirt had whiteboard marker stains on it so I applied washing up liquid and chucked it in the wash once it had soaked in. I did this a few times and after the last time I noticed there was a powdery residue left over. I wiped it round then washed the bra but I'm wondering if there was some in the seal I hadn't cleaned up. Please does anyone have any advice what I can do about the bra and the washer and my washing is piling up?! Washer is almost brand new.

No real answer but suggest using vanish on stains rather than washing up liquid in future.

Run it on a boil wash with no spin cycle empty with a cup of bleach in it then do another boil wash with no bleach afterwards. I use fairy on stains too and have never had a sticky problem like the one you describe

Thanks both of you. I was using vanish but heard fairy can help and have done it before so I'm not sure what's happened.
