Whether it be walking into your own house or walking into what you thought was your friends/families house

Not me but when I was in high school my mate knocked on the door of a house 4 doors away thinking I lived there , I had to tell him that it was the wrong house.

My in-laws parked on our next-door neighbour's drive and started unloading the car when they came to visit us once. Mil even commented to Fil that they were surprised that we had chopped our tree down! We hadn't. It was still in our garden next door! They had been to our house many times before Confused

I also got disoriented on a caravanning holiday and walked into the wrong caravan. I don't know who was more startled, me or the elderly chap washing up at the sink!

I'm on a roll now! My friend used to get a lift every morning from a colleague who used to pick her up outside a nearby pub in her little red old-style mini. My mate was waiting one day, saw the little red mini and jumped in. The total stranger behind the wheel looked petrified! The colleague was four cars behind in her mini pissing herself laughing!

I spent a while trying to get into the house when I lived with my sister many years ago. I'd had a few too many and no matter how much I tried my key wouldn't work. I was stuck in the garden for a while until I realised I was 3 houses down in the row of terraces we lived in.

DP went back to our old house a couple of weeks after we moved out for a poo at lunch time 😳 luckily he realised as he grabbed the door handle to enter the house, god knows what would have happened if the new people were there and found him on the loo! It's right next to the front door so he could easily have walked in and sat down!

There’s a mum at dc’s school with the same car as mine. I’ve got into her car once and she’s got into mine twice.

Someone walked into my house. Dh and I were upstairs bathing DS. I had gone into DS' bedroom, just in my underwear, and I heard the front door open. I yelled out "DH! I think someone's in the house!" To which someone from downstairs yelled "No! No there's not!" Hmm
DH grabbed the loft hatch pole and thundered down the stairs with it held aloft (pun intended) looking all menacing to find a bloke cringing his way out of the door full of apologies. He'd been meaning to go two doors down to visit my neighbour there and clearly isn't big on knocking.

Nope but we had a 7 seater car with the windows slightly opaque- after school my brother spotted the car, opened the side door to get in and got a shock whilst we sat and laughed! We were maybe 2-3 cars behind that car.

Not only did I go to the wrong house, but one of the house mates there let me in as my key was not working. (Not surprisingly!!) It was Freshers week at university so we were living in big houses and the residents were still changing. When I got to "my" room, I opened the door and found someone on "my" bed. It was only then that we all realised I was at the right house number but the wrong Street

Once when Dogwalking I opened next doors house to the lady I worked for. Neighbour came out and we both went, "OOH!!" And I fled.
Also tried to open my sisters neighbours basement door at midnight instead of hers. Only when my friend said the keys didn't match did I realise!!!! Blush

I tried to unlock someone else's car and couldn't understand why my key wouldn't work. I should have realised as the car was clean and didn't look like a bin on wheels.

No, but we did drive off in someone else's car from a restaurant once. To me fair, it was not really our fault. We had used valet parking and the attendant had brought a car almost identical to ours. We were down the road a bit when my brother, sitting in the back seat, says, "Hey, Seneca, I thought your car had leather seats." Oops says I, as I looked down at the cloth seats and then at the console which was full of someone else's stuff. So back to the restaurant we went. Happily, we were back before the real owners of the car tried to retrieve theirs.

When I was 17 or 18, my friend gave me her house key so that I could sleep over at hers (she was going to her boyfriend's). I couldn't get the key to work so thought I'd climb in her window. Only, it was a weird lower conversion and the window I picked was actually her Mum and Stepdad's bedroom window.

Luckily, the window was too high up so I tried the door again and it worked.

I have been cringing periodically every since over what might have been.

If it's not evident, I was very pissed.

I've never done this but my lovely mum has. She was going to a gathering at one of her brothers. She explained to me that her brother's neighbours had party balloons on their door so she assumed, as you do. After knocking and passing pleasantries with whoever answered party house door, she was rather alarmed at how much my uncles decor skills had declinedGrin. The penny dropped fairly quickly.
I love all these people getting into the wrong carGrin.

Don't you lock your cars?

My FIL walked into my SIL neighbours house with an axe once Grin. They had just moved in and he had gone to the car to get the axe to chop up something to take to the tip and then walked back in to the neighbours. I don't think they have spoken to them since.

I got into the wrong car once with my fish and chips! Sat down and panicked when I realised the radio had been stolen and looked in the back and saw the baby seat had gone.. then noticed through the window my car right next to it! Unbelievably 2 cars the same make and colour parked next too each other both unlocked!

My friend thought he had once. Came home after a weekend away, dying for the loo. Ran in the flat, midway through peeing, looked around and thought "this is not my bathroom".
He momentarily panicked thinking he'd got out of the lift on the wrong floor and walked into the wrong flat... until his mum called out asking if he liked the new colour, she'd decorated while he was away!

No, but I did once walk into the men's loos at a service station. It was being renovated, if that is an excuse. I looked at the men there and thought "wtaf are you doing in the ladies'?" It was only when I exited that I noticed my mistake.
