Does your home get too hot and too cold?

I put the heating on, it clicks in at 20. I turn the thermostat so it just about clicks. But this makes the radiators really hot and before you know it we're all sweating. So then I turn it so it's just under the click...and the heating goes off completely. Then it gets too cold. It doesn't feel it's about 19.

Is this normal or is something wrong with my heating?

Can you turn the temp dien for the heating on your boiler? This will make the radiators less hot, which will mean heating will come on more frequently but to a lower temp.

It's set on my boiler at 72. Is that unusually high?

I can't fermenter what mine is set too but you have to adjust for your home. I'm not a knowledgeable person but I think it's worth trying 65.

Don't forget that 72 is likely to be Celsius, so it's incredibly hot!

I didn't think to check the boiler tbh because I recently had a gas check and the technician commented on how hot my water was, and did I want him to turn it down. Never mentioned the heating but I will turn it down to 65.

To be honest, I don't quite get it. Why does it matter what the boiler is set to if I have a thermostat?

We don't have that problem. Our heating is on all the time between 18.5 and 19.5.

Think of it like your oven. If you put something in at 200 it'll cook faster than at 100. :)

If you have your boiler set high then it will heat your radiators very hot very quickly, house suddenly warm, but the thermostat kicks in and tells it to stop, house cools down. If boiler is set lower you get a lower heat coming through radiators, they kick on more often keeping the house at a steadier temp.

Am off to turn the boiler down as currently on 76 but doesn't kick in until we're chilly atm.

Is your home temp better now caked?

Mine's too early to tell but I've turned it down from 76 to 68...depending how we go I'll be turning to down to 64b!

I've turned mine down to 65....it's so much better.
