Washing rant!

The neighbours have a newborn. Lots of little cute white newborn vests etc. on the line. BUT - they have been washed with black items (not baby stuff). It irritates me every time I look out of the kitchen window. Is it just me who's anal about my whites? Rant over!

How do you know they were washed together? Are the 'whites' not white anymore?

My mum gave me a lecture once as she saw me pegging out DHs work shirts and a load of blue towels on the line - she ranted about me mixing the washload but I hadn't. The towels were washed the night before and the shirts first thing, I was just pegging out two washes at the same time.

What bugger your towels were festering while the shirts washed? .
Heh, they've got a newborn. They are doing well to be getting the washes pegged out at all...

Yep festering they were! Festering away while I festered in my dressing gown trying to wake up enough to go out and put the line up 😲 Still at least I hadn't put them out overnight to get darker on. 🌌

I never separate. And I wash towels, bedding and tea towels in with clothes.

I keep my whites separate!
I was once handed down a lot of baby clothes that were grey. And I mean really dirty looking. I nearly skipped the lot but I thought I’d at least try to wash them first and put a load of colour run remover in there. It worked. I had to soak them overnight and then wash them, but it worked
Maybe you could buy her colour run remover as a new baby gift Grin

The only whites I have are dds school shirts and maybe some old pillowcases.
Dds shirts got washed separately for the first 3 weeks until I knew the rest of her uniform wouldnt run. Now i stick all her uniform in together.
I dont seperate anything really, if things look like they might run I will try and wash them with eithet dark towels or on their own (like new black jeans) 😃 x

Ah bugger you get an excellent housewifery point for taking the line up and down rather than leaving it up, very good very good.
Oooh do you think whites that are DARKED on go greyer??? Heh
