Is 2 metre for an iron cord too short? Can you recommend me a good iron?

Need to get a new iron and want a standard one not a huge box one. Many with good reviews are caveated by the fact that cord only 2 metres long which reviews say can impair ease of ironing. Does anyone actually have aniron with longer cord and is it important?

If you can recommend your iron even better! Thanks.

I just use a normal iron with an extension cord.

Just had to buy yet another new iron (because they don't last 2 mnutes) and short cords are a common complaint.

Bought a Bosch Sensixx DA77 which has a cord so long I don't know where to put it but is such a heavy clunky thing I'm hoping that i can get my broken one replaced on warranty when I get chance.

And TBH, my 2m cord iron is fine, even if I'm not flush to the socket. As mentioned, use an extension cable, if you need to. Buy based on reviews (particularly the flavour of the negative ones) rather than with cord lenght as a main priority because the number of irons that leak, fail after a month or overheat is unreal.

I'd go for as long a cord as I could find. Mine is a Bosch (not sure of the model) and its cord is 3m. I probably got it in Argos - you can compare different ones quite well on their website.

Most cords are between 2-3 metres.

Tbh you'd struggle to get longer as I'm sure there is some safety law/rule that states they have to be under a certain length, so that they're not prone to being pulled by children/tripped over (same with kettles).

Depending on where in the house I am ironing, I just use a single socket extension lead.

It's this one and I've had it for around 6 months.

We've just got a new Bosch iTemp TDA70EYGB Steam Iron.

3 metre cord and it's amazing! You don't have to keep changing the temperature - it does it for you. Expensive though...
