Other than the obvious dishes and kids plastic Tupperware.

What else can you put in your dishwasher to make your life easier with cleaning?

I have been putting the following in to save time with cleaning by hand:
Extractor fan vents
Washing machine detergent draw
Oven trays

Fridge shelves
The microwave turntable plate
Lego in a string bag!
The soap dish
Used to do the high chair tray

Lego in a mesh bag cleans well, also other small plastic toys.

Oooo great ideas there ! Thank you so much.

I intend to use for all of those! I have a high chair table .. well two trays which are annoying didn't know I could put on dishwasher

Fridge shelves is a good one too! Another time saver ... I just hope I remember which shelf goes where haha

Also the non slip bath mat is antler great one!!' They always get grimey and take ages to clean because you have to clean each individual non slip part thoroughly

BusyBee2017 Mon 15-May-17 22:08:57

does the dishwasher get rid of the marks on the non slip mat?

can you put crocs in? or do they go out of shape?

You can put washing up sponge in as it cleans it to make it last longer.

I haven't tried it but read about things you can cook in there like fish (obviously you seal it!)

Fridge shelves, who knew?! Amazing, I will be doing!

MrsELM21 Mon 15-May-17 22:51:12

Plugs??

sparechange Mon 15-May-17 22:53:16

Squeezy bath toys

But for the love of god, not a loo seat <flashback to heated thread of yesteryear>

mustiwearabra Mon 15-May-17 22:55:35

Yes haha, plugs MrsELM21 especially the kitchen sink ones, the silver ones you just push down. My sanity demands that ours is cleaned in the dishwasher at least once a week.

NannyR Mon 15-May-17 22:56:25

Re. non-slip bath mats; I just chuck mine in the washing machine every week when I wash the towels, it comes out looking like new.

BertieBotts Mon 15-May-17 23:00:23

Yes, just wait for someone to come along and say that they clean various bathroom items in theirs and the wrath of MN will come down upon them grin

I put my washing up brushes and scourers in there. Plugs is a genius idea!

mustiwearabra Mon 15-May-17 23:02:25

BertieBotts I knew I wasn't nuts. It brings so much more sparkling clean joy than giving them a scrub with a toothbrush.

fannydaggerz Mon 15-May-17 23:03:39

Dog bowls, toys, fridge shelves,

If I'm cleaning my oven and the shelves are very grubby, I put them in the dishwasher and get them out while still hot and scrub with a metal scourer - all of the burnt on stuff comes off.

BumWad Mon 15-May-17 23:04:48

Toilet seat?

zzzzz Mon 15-May-17 23:06:23

The sieve thing in the school know and the washing up brush is very pleasing.

I remember the loo seat/potty in the dishwasher thread. It was nightmare inducing.
