Ikea Kulinarisk Ovens or Neff(18 Posts)
Hi - Newbie here but have been reading lots of your threads with great interest regarding kitchen and appliance advice.
We are about to extend and add a new kitchen. Lots of other questions will no doubt follow but for now I would be really interested in your experiences with either an Ikea Kulinarisk oven with pyrolytic cleaning or the new Neff B57CS24N0B.
Having looked at appliances at Ikea - I was really impressed with this oven. At £550 I thought it was excellent value for the features BUT really value a real users experience - so does anyone have one to speak from experience. I had a play with the one on display at Ikea and was impressed by its features and with how easy it was to use. As for the Neff one - this too has great features and of course is highly regarded as a market leader. Both ovens have pyrolytic. When it comes to a Hob - we have been totally converted to go with induction having read such great reviews on here and elsewhere and from cleaning our current gas hob everyday and thinking I could be spending my time better elsewhere.
I have a neff (integrated, double, think its pyro..). It replaced a thousand year old oven, and in another house I had a B&Q cheapie. The neff hasn't really impressed me - it is no better than the other two ovens. Sure it cooks, so I'm not unhappy, but as an example cakes still need turning to cook evenly. I don't see what I've had for the extra cost. Not sure if that helps?
Thanks 4yoniD - I do sometimes think this myself and was really impressed with the ikea. I've never used a pyro oven - is it good?
I'd always go with good names (NEFF) rather than IKEA. Our kitchen is an IKEA one and I do think you get what you pay for. I wonder who makes IKEAs white goods...it won't be NEFF.
I can't remember what my hob is. Might be NEFF. Can't check at the moment. Know it's not IKEA.
What my oven is not my hob. My hob is Bosch induction (great)
I have had a neff oven for eleven years. It has the pyrotechnic oven cleaning facility and I thank the heavens for it every time a dirty oven is transformed into a small pile of ash which is just wiped out. I love this oven with a passion. It does everything an oven needs to do and more. It even proves dough. Love it, love it. Will only ever replace it with a neff.
Kulinarisk looks like it might translate to 'culinary risk'* which would put me off having an oven called it.
*it probably doesn't actually

After a bit more digging, Kulinarisk is Electrtolux.
OP, I see mine too is a NEFF. I don't know what can go drastically wrong with ovens but I'd prefer to buy one with a known name. The pyrotechnic cleaning works great as per the poster above.
I have a neff oven. Never used the pyro function but I love the rest of it. Pizza function, dough proving, etc.
Can I ask....with the pyro cleaning I know I need to take the shelves out but do I also need to take the shelf supports off the oven walls? I think they unscrew?
sorry to hijack thread but I am also needing a new oven and hob. What do people rate as better - free standing or built in?
Possum - yes you do need to take out all the silvered bits. They kind of push and wiggle out in my oven. Very easy after the first attempt.
Wish I could leave them in though and clean the oven trays at the same time. Why haven't you used the pyro cleaning - it's fab.
I haven't done it because I'm not sure how to take those bits out! Will try tomorrow.
Ok - Neff it is then - although Bosch is being researched more this weekend. There is too much choice. Thank you everyone for your replies and advice.
Dontstopmenow - we spend all last Saturday looking at ranges verses built in. I have had 2 ranges in the past. My first range was excellent and lasted 17 years it was a rangemaster. When we came to replace it i felt i wanted another range. I looked at rangemaster again and the quality had really dropped. Things like, it felt a lot flimsier, and the knobs were plastic. In the end I settled for a Stoves Richmond DFT and although its pretty to look at it is AWFUL We HATE it!. The paint has bubbled up and is coming off on the hob surround and oven door, the pan support rubbers have all fallen off, the burners do not light properly and its a nightmare to keep clean. The knobs are plastic too and have started to peel! We thought we would look at the higher end of range cookers but even by throwing more money at a range cooker you just don't get quality for your £. Even a top of the range single cavity Rangemaster with pyro costing £2400 still comes with plastic knobs!
Another major factor that contributed to making a decision was that even if we shelled out and bought one of the high end rangecookers having looked at them - they only show the oven temperature in 25 degree increments - one of these high end ranges was was £4500!
We came to the conclusion that it was style over substance.
So we have decided on two single side by side Neff (or Bosch) Pyro digital ovens. At around £700 each plus a hob it is a no brainer for us. The options and settings these have are amazing - even dough proving.
Yes I am nervous about moving away from a range and yes I prefer the look of a range but I having done the research, looked at the vast amount of reviews and for us plus talking it through with hubby I think this is the way to go forward for us. I am actually quite excited. Just need to decide on eye level or under counter now!
OP, I'm sure Bosch would be equally as good. Good as IKEA is at what it does, I don't think that involves white goods. I love Bosch products too.
My Neff doesn't have those silvered shelf supports. It has the usual slots that shelves slide into. However, mine is eleven years old. It has a universal tray which is really useful as stuff drips onto it but you need to clean that in the oven cleaning operation. I put the shelves into the dishwasher on a really hot wash then wipe off burnt on stuff with one of those scotchbrites. Love that I don't use any chemicals.
I have two kulinarisk ovens neither of them can I get the grill to work. I've tried all settings and all I get is the element on the rear wall glowing red hot. Are they faulty? Or is it me?
