Clean your machine before washing the clothes again. To clean your machine: remove soap dispenser drawer and scrub it in the kitchen sink with an old toothbrush. Look in the hole where the drawer fits and clean it out too. Clean around the rubber seal at the door. Replace the soap drawer and pour some soda crystals in instead of soap powder and run the machine empty on the highest temperature setting. This cleaning is called a Maintenance Wash and should be carried out regularly. Then wash your clothes again, remove and dry promptly. Leave the machine door open slightly to air when it's not being used.
Get white vinegar from Savers or Wilko as a spray. Then spray the washing machine and add soda crystals into the drum when putting it on the hottest temperature. Also take out the drawer and soak it in white vinegar for a couple of hours then wash with washing up liquid. Also add a bit of white vinegar to the fabric conditioner compartment when washing clothes with 5-10 drops of tea tree oil or orange oil. Don't worry about the smell as it'll be gone once the clothes are dry.
