Dry blood stains?

DH woke up this morning having had a massive nose bleed during the night. He didn't tell me just let me sleep longer and I in my rather groggy morning state didn't notice.

result is we have sheets and a matress protector that has a rather large blood stain on .. How do I best get rid of this? Something inside me says salt water I am sure that is what I was taught but what is MN saying? Just in case I am wrong.

Yes, soak in a bucket with a small amount of cold water (just covering the stain) and plenty of salt on it.
Overnight or for 24 hours should do it. Rinse before putting in the wash.

If you try to wash it without doing this then it sort of "cooks" the blood and "sets" the stain.

What you need is oxyclean. It works like magic, saved my favorite sheets after everything else failed. Quite common where I live but only seems available on amazon inthe UK.

Thank you we got most of it off. I have also managed to talk him into going back to the gp to get this sorted.
