Is this bonkers - show flannel?

(Afterthought- daily mail/mirror journos you lazy cunting wankbadgers this is not for you to lift. Go report some news. I shall intersperse swears just in case. Ha.)

I like to make my bathroom feel as pampery as possible given it's poky and rented. I also use white flannels once or twice a day in my skincare routine so I keep a stash in a basket. Fuckbucket. When I was at a posh spa a few months ago I spent ten minutes studying how they'd rolled/tucked their flannels and now I use their technique so it feels even pamperier (word?). Cuntbiscuit.

Anyway, I've taken to leaving a 'show flannel' out on the side of the sink. I don't actually use it, I use the ones from the basket (which is on a shelf above eye level). But it sits there looking lovely and calm inviting me to look after myself. Arseweasel. I like to think guests might see it and feel they're at a fancy hotel or something. It's also angled at a perfect 45 degrees mirrored by the soap dish on the other side. Cuntfuckitybastardshitmonkey.

(Disclaimer: without being flippant it is very possible that I have OCD, I am under mental health support for anxiety and mood problems, before anyone gets too mean!)

Am I completely bonkers? Or do other people do this kind of thing too?

My mum has show flannel, soap & towel & goes mental if anyone uses it.

My Nan had a show flannel, towel, and posh soap in the downstairs loo, woe betide anyone who actually used them. My db used to soap once, it was disappeared and a new one took its place, he never touched it again

Just for arseweasel and Cuntfuckitybastardshitmonkey I think I'd like to be your best friend!

Bambinho Sun 08-Jan-17 13:22:21

I too have a show flannel, it lives on the sink indentation opposite the other one where the soap is. Started doing it mainly to conceal the sink brand name written there but I think it looks nice and evens the sink up grin

I fold it up all nice too, it's all perfectly normal smile

My friend's mum goes mad if anyone uses the shower and forgets to dry it with a towel from the airing cupboard, and then replace the ornamental towel on the rail afterwards. Pisswizard. Also you can't stand, wet, on the bath mat - you have to put another towel down first and stand on that.

Her kitchen, however, is a health hazard. Fuckpig. She made hamburgers and it looked like a murder scene. But the bathroom? Pristine. Fannyfart.

I want to come and stay at your house!

I always tell myself this is how my bathroom will be but my DCs do not understand what "for show" means. They think it means "for cleaning our paintbrushes". hmm

Yes, completely and utterly bonkers and ridiculous. But you are very good at swearing so I will let it lie.

AlwaysTheWinner Sun 08-Jan-17 13:33:45

I aspire to show-flannelry. My vision is of a rainbow of flannels artfully arranged in a wicker basket with ordinary white ones tucked away in the cupboard for everyday use.

Philoslothy Sun 08-Jan-17 13:54:15

I have a basket of flannels in my bathroom and the guest bathroom that are perfectly rolled. I get that bit. I don't really get having a flannel that is not to be used but you are harming nobody

Blue2014 Sun 08-Jan-17 13:54:42

I'm a little in love with you for the casual use of the word cuntbiscuit.

ShatnersBassoon Sun 08-Jan-17 13:59:15

How could something as dull as a flannel ever be used as a decorative item? Are you doing J-cloth origami with the best, never to be used one of those too? confused grin

twofloorsup Sun 08-Jan-17 14:06:25

I can't see my bathroom floor for kids clothes so I'm a little bit in awe of your show flannel and cuntbiscuits grin

Ohyesiam Sun 08-Jan-17 14:15:36

If I knew how to keep flannels white I might just have a show flannel......
Buy I know what you mean, I have certain things that make me feel all is well with the world, like candles flowers and Just the right lighting.
By the way you sound lovely, can we be friends? I am thinking of interspersing every thing with swearing.

Titwank.

So good you said it six times tall grin. It does sound slightly over the top,but harmles. Meh. Tis your bathroom, and they can't touch you for it. Arsebiscuit.
