Take out all the water then use limescale lip cleaners it's the only way I can clean mine

Get that Harpic in the black bottle. It's like Agent Orange! I poured some down the lav in DD's student flat and left it for two hours - it looked like new!

braceybracegirl Mon 02-Jan-17 20:57:47

What is the harpic called?

Livedandlearned Mon 02-Jan-17 21:00:19

There's a really good product made by harpic, tablets in a black box, best limescale remover I've used.

I use vinegar! Leave it in the pan (with the water, or not) for a couple of hours then use a toilet brush to brush it all
Away!

Steradent denture cleaning tablets. Put six of them in the toilet bowl, leave for a few hours before flushing. Repeat every few days to prevent limescale build up.

I tried denture tablets, Coke and vinegar before I bought the black bottle if harpic. They did naff all. Harpic cleared it in one go.

Tip in a bottle of Killrock liquid.
Leave overnight.
Scrub and flush.

If the limescale is down the back of the pan, paint it with the Killrock gel, leave overnight, repeat as necessary.

I sorted out a minging toilet pan like this. I don't think the former occupant of the house had ever heard of limescale remover, because the bath taps were disgusting too.

Any old acid will sort it out eventually. If it's really bad I'd chuck a packet of citric acid (kettle descaler) in. If the bubbles completely stop and there's still scale, chuck in another packet.

Then chuck a bit of acid down there every week (I use the same white vinegar as for the rest of the bathroom) to stop it recurring.

Why has the OP been deleted?

LumelaMme Tue 03-Jan-17 17:53:09

That is the oddest deletion ever!
Did I miss something when I read the OP?

braceybracegirl Tue 03-Jan-17 17:58:49

Weird isn't it!

Can someone please tell me what the harpic in the "black bottle" is called - it is not the powerplus is it? I do hope not as that is doing nothing to the toilet I am cleaning here!

QueenMortificado Wed 04-Jan-17 16:39:31

Ooooh I wanna know what the op said that was so offensive about toilet cleaner!

(Even though this is now a year old)

HG limescale remover is very good too - but is too liquid to stay under the rim - the gel suggested by Lumela sounds like the business for that

longerdays Wed 04-Jan-17 20:06:41

think this is the gel? www.amazon.co.uk/Get-It-Bought-Kilrock-Gel/dp/B007PMICRY/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1483560321&sr=8-8&keywords=kilrock+liquid

Can someone please link me to the liquid? Thanks.

There are loads of posts recommending products by the same handful of people, I think. So P1 posts a question P2 recommends a product. P3 posts another question, P1 links to a product. Same handful of people. Clever spam.
Cleaning Karndean, combination microwaves, stain remover, rice cookers etc.

Vinegar or lemon juice over night, works a treat and you don't have to worry about whats in the limescale remover.

well I am not a "plant" just desperately trying to find something that will work - to date none of the above have.
