Hello
I hate ironing but it has to be done for work clothes! I have a very cheap £14 iron which although has been OK Is struggling to cope with creases in my husbands thicker shirts. I don't want to spend loads but which is the iron you would suggest that is going to make me hate ironing a bit less than I already do! And also my ironing board is annoying wobbly but I always find this! Is there a magic non wobble one out there?!!!

I always wondered what the deal was with the massive steam irons (separate steam bit and smaller actual iron) so got a cheap one from Aldi. It is AMAZING. If it breaks down I will definitely fork out for a 'proper' version! Another tip is to iron the shirts when they are still damp then just rehang them on an airer to finish drying. A better tip is to get your husband to iron his own shirts.

I love ironing, I pop the ironing board in front of the tv in my bedroom and it's a great excuse to watch my favourite series on tv. I have ironed my way through the whole of the Gilmore Girls series, the Missing series, Gossip Girl now I'm on the Killing!

Ok splash out on iron. I had a crappy cheap one for ages as thought it was all tosh. Have bought new steam one was reduced to 40 from 60 so still not most pricy. Tis loads better. Ironing is quicker by far.

Haha! Thanks all! My husband to be fair does more than his fair share around the house and would never expect me to do his ironing for him but as he works full time and me only part time I really don't mind. Muddling - you sound like me! I've watched all of those whilst ironing. So... I'm looking for a steam iron then? Any particular brand?

Brabantia for the board. They do 5 different sizes - check carefully to see which one fits your house / your arm / your ironing style Smile
Have had cheapo supermarket boards but wouldn't go back now I've got the Brabantia - proper sturdy board which doesn't squeak and which is easily adjustable.
