How do I clean the top bit of the oven where the element is?!

My oven is really really horribly in need of a clean. We're talking years worth of Sunday roasts! I've tried Mr Muscle tonight (yep, I started at 9.30 on a Saturday night....), and it's got a lot of the horrors off the sides and bottom, although I think it will need another go. BUT the worst bit is the top bit IYKWIM, where the element is, and I know that I can't use the cleaner there, so what on earth do I do? Help me lovely people of Mumsnet!!

I've used this cleaner in the past to clean my oven element. You defintley need to be careful when cleaning this part as you can easily damage the oven.
