I have booked a sneaky day off from work and not told anyone. It's been great. I've emptied, cleaned, decluttered and filled my wardrobe and drawers. That makes the third bag of textiles for the charity shop this week. I even used Zoflora, which I discovered thanks to MN. Baa.

Downstairs I've been slow cooking a stew all morning and have some dumplings to make later.

I have had music, radio and Prime on in the background, rung friends etc and absolutely had a ball. Please tell me that this is what retirement feels like?

Nothing yet really.

Booked a holiday cottage for next summer. I've been listening to Christmas songs whilst googling. Your stew sounds good, might do that for dinner tonight. Beef and mushroom, lovely.

It it feels good its probably retirement! Grin

Oooh im hoping retirement is like my day today!!

I've also been a domestic goddess
Made veg soup from all the leftover veg I had
Went to morrisons and aldi for different things
Cleaned all my bathrooms. Sorted out my makeup and cleaned my brushes
Deep cleaned and bleached the kitchen
Washings done and bed sheets changed
Lovely lunch of my soup and baguette and then a coffee and biscuits
Caught up on my TV show (ordinary lies)
Hoovered up and down stairs
Now relaxing before collecting dd from nursery!! I feel successful today

Retirement must be amazing! I used to be a SAHM & I loved it. Yesterday I was hugely productive. I got up at 6:15 & baked an apple loaf from apples from our tree for kiddo to have as a snack @ school. Then made him a bean burrito (from scratch, one of his favourites) w homemade guacamole, salsa, & cheese. Did laundry, had a small nap, hoovered house, made myself tabbouleh for lunch, did emails, went to work for four hours. Came home & made our dinner.

Folding washing is my nemesis and I finally folded and organised the cloth nappies that have been sitting there staring at me while I use disposables this past week. I also managed (thanks to a sunny and windy spring day here in NZ) to get two loads of washing washed and dried. Sadly not folded so it all starts again tomorrow!

Have made as many frozen meals as fit in our freezer in anticipation of a busy week coming up, done and hung up three loads of laundry (living room full of drying clothes now), wrapped Christmas presents for relatives we're seeing this weekend, and have sorted out toys and put away the outgrown ones. Lovely peaceful sort of day, no demands or toddler shouting :)

Hmm, well. I made sure that all the washing up was done before I went to bed and I felt annoyed with myself for wasting my day and not using it like you did. Sigh.

I've already put a wash load on, made tea, started the breakfast oat pancakes soaking and cleaned the fridge after knocking a yogurt over. I've been doing a cupboard/drawer a day since 1st Sept and I'm started to feel like I'm winning. Am now back in bed with tea tho.

Unwillingly semi retired.

Yesterday I had morning fun with dh, wrote a training package for my volunteers and set up for the training I'm doing at the weekend, went shopping with dh and had lovely fresh warm tiger bread for lunch (with soup), collected mum from her home, cooked roast dinner plus soup, slow cooked short ribs for Saturday, chorizo chili for Sunday, a cake for tomorrow and some sausage rolls. Watched prerecorded bake off with mum then took her home and caught up with cold feet and a glass of wine while dh popped to the pub.

If it wasn't for the rotten pay retirement would be lovely :-)

I have a blissful day of working from home, so I'm at it again - bathroom cleaned and floor scrubbed, three (three!) loads of laundry now drying, one parcel collected, one broken laptop delivered to computer shop and one beef stew on the hob.

Anyone else?
