My maturnity leave started yesterday. DC1 is in nursery so it will just be me till the baby comes (DD is in 2 weeks). Until today I have been working full time and organised nothing, even my Labour bag is a half baked effort!

My plan is to rid my house of clutter by this time next week, so it is easy to clean and I can get a cleaner to keep on top of it.

I am hoping by telling you lot I will avoid getting stuck to the sofa and eating crisps all day.

To start, I better do that maturnity bag, before dc1wakes up.

Good luck! I am also in full organisation mode (but not pregnant)

So far, I got my flue jab and a lady is coming at 10 to pick up some stuff I sold on eBay.... the Labour bag still hasn't been done, I seem to be putting it off for some reason!

Lady has postponed till tomorrow. My kitchen looks like an antique shop :/ I know it can't be helped but I was so excited to be getting rid of things.

Oh that's a pain!
We're meant to go to the skip today, and might go into town to get an under shelf storage basket to organise our kitchen.

I'm 36+3 with DC4, I've been on mat leave since 32 weeks and I've done sod all it seems

My labour bag is empty

I've posted on lots of similar threads in that time though ...

Yes, it's a pity that time reading/posting threads does not equate time actually doing it...

I peaked at tidying the kids toys into ages and putting a load away. Also sorted baby cloths into age ranges and put them away.... still no Labour bag

Just tell baby to stay put for a little while longer Grin
I ended up spending all afternoon in town, but did buy some cupboard storage things, so hopefully it'll help make things tidy!

Well done!
I've just filled a box full of books to go to the charity shop

I need to gather all the random bank statements and things I have liberally scattered around the house, not too bad but I must then go through them and file them :/

I was the book hoarder, but now DH is more attached than I am!
We finally have a filing cabinet for all bank statements, and that's made a massive difference (they used to be all in different ring binders and it was a faff!

Just read the Marie Kondo book, and got rid of half my fabric stash and a box more of books today.
How's your labour bag going?

It hasn't Blush I have pencilled it in for Wednesday. Tomorrow is the big day with a cleaner coming to quote for how long she thinks the house needs as a weekly clean. After that I can relax a bit. I did manage to go through the dvds and old school books today, have a large pile for the charity shop :)

I've really learned how to let things go. Probably in inverse proportion to the stuff the kids collect! So the flat is probably not any emptier really Grin
Hope the cleaner makes things easier! We had one for a very short time when DD2 was born but we couldn't afford her long term

I can't face the inevitable mess that will happen if my husband and I can't clean due to the kids. But also I hate the idea of him in another room cleaning and missing seeing the kids.... and my DD is mad, so Neither of us want to be looking after her when we are shattered, there for we may fight about who gets to clean lol

Woohoo! Enjoy!
I've sorted our cleaning cupboard. Not sure why I have so much stuff when I basically just use one spray for everything. And I found a few glass jars with powdery stuff in it, but as I didn't label them I had to throw them out!
Lesson learned... I hope!
