Just hired a cleaner - what do you expect?

I just hired a cleaner, comes highly recommended. We have a two bed flat and she is coming for 3 hours for £30 (we are in London)

Is is reasonable to expect:
Bathroom/toilet
Hoover & mop all floors
Thoroughly dust everything
Wipe kitchen surfaces
Oven/hob/fridge wipe down

We have a dog so floors can get extra dirty (hair mud etc)

You should expect a lot done in 3 hours. I am a cleaner! I change beds. Clean windows. Wash paintwork. All the usual on your list. Extra bits get put on a list and done as /when needed. Don't be worried about leaving reminders. She will work out what needs done every week or alternately etc. Leave a radio out! Makes the job so much nicer!! Enjoy your clean house!

Ok great! Thank you :)

I hadn't thought to ask for Windows and bedding change - that would also be amazing!

Ours does 3 hours, too. She does

2 bedrooms
sitting room
3 bathrooms
kitchen
Thorough dust, polish tables
vacuum all floors, mop kitchen
Iron around 10 pieces (shirts, trousers)
Change sheets

  • extra task if there is time (the odd window)

When we are on holiday, she does all windows, oven deep clean etc. She is amazing. We have kids, but no pets.

Large 2-bed (two storey) flat in London, and ours does everything on your list plus bedding change every other week, and 4-5 items of ironing.

Perfect! Sounds like I have fairly reasonable expectations - plus can throw in the odd ironing here and there as needed.
