Ocado Smartpass

I've just had the renewal and it's gone up to £109.
Has anyone else managed to haggle and get a better price? Or maybe cancelled to get a better offer.
I want to continue but the price is steep!

I just cancelled mine. Midweek deliveries are free for over £75 so I still don't pay.

I cancelled it last year and haven't missed it.

It also means I can get, say, a Waitrose delivery when I have a voucher.

Mine went up to that and I called them to cancel and ended up agreeing three free months and then £2.99 a month after on a rolling contract for mid week deliveries. They also offered the same deal at £5.99 for any time deliveries.

Not enough - was that recently? £6 per month would be a huge improvement.

Mine is also 5.98 rolling for anytime but I managed to get first four months free.

I think mine is £6.99 for anytime deliveries, I phoned up to cancel when it got to expensive. I keep mine as I can't do without the Christmas delivery slot.

per month that is!

WellyMummy · 19/08/2016 18:04

Thanks all! Even £7 per month is £25 cheaper. I think it might be time to phone and haggle!

welly it was probably about three months ago I think

Ha! After a disastrous morning involving an unanticipated early Ocado delivery and a burglar alarm, I rang Ocado and switched from the Smartpass to a different one, 3 months free and then a 12 month commitment to £6.99 per month, a much better deal.

Thanks to all advice and shared experiences!

top tip, ring again in 3/4 months and they'll put you on a new cancellation offer! There's no contracts. The 12 months thing is just a fixed term.

What benefits does the smart pass actually have? I'm a midweek delivery spending over £75 on an average week so my deliveries are usually free.

10% off 1000 foods, freebies at checkout too :)

I shop every fortnight on a Wednesday, free for over £75 spend.

I never got "freebies at checkout"

Report
HawkingsMead · 23/08/2016 14:56

I get loads of freebies - the collagen beauty milk (to drink) is still in the refrigerator months later...

I seem to be getting free crisps with every shop and have had some nice freebies that I've continued to buy.

The 10% off does add up - especially on things like coffee and toiletries.

I just wish I'd stop adding random stupid crap like dulse to my shop. Blush

I phoned to cancel about 6 months ago and got the three months free then £2.99 a month for midweek only, but it's gone up to £4.99 now. I rarely spend £75 though and only use it once every two to three weeks, I really ought to cancel, but it's the only place I can get the DCs favourite cereal. I do get quite a few freebies though.

I haggled too & told them I resented their practice of rewarding new customers, not loyal existing customers. It saved me quite a bit & I told them that annoyed me.

Freebies!! about 2 yrs I've been shopping with them, not one freebie. Sad

But do you have a smart pass, buttered toast?? I'm always getting free gifts at checkout since we bought ours. Never had a freebie before that.

BooFuckingHoo · 23/08/2016 17:29

What are these freebies? Envy

I had a Smart pass for about 8 years and only got very rare random promotional freebies when my shopping arrived. No change since I cancelled!

How odd. I've had so many freebies that I've had to turn them down and I often have a choice of freebies. Why is it so variable?

I have noticed that over the summer when we've had Ocado deliveries to outside of London (countryside or small villages) on our holidays we haven't had any freebies. I wonder if it is more frequent in cities or was it just because we weren't at home?

For freebies, I've had Slimfast foods, crisps, crisps, biscuits, crisps, collagen beauty milk, almond milk, Coke Zero, an omelette (?) and can't think of others.

I had to stop the free crisps as we weren't eating them fast enough.
