Do you have a good roasting dish?

I have a couple of cheap ones which are flaking - probably the non stick coating. So I am going to recycle them but can anyone recommend one that is good?
My main thing is that it needs to be easy to wash!

I'm not mad on non-stick roasting tins because I can't shove them in the dishwasher or scrub the hell out of them. I use those black flecked with white enamel ones - think I bought them from Robert Dyas a few years ago. For roasting joints of meat/whole chickens I have a self-basting casserole dish thingy made from the same material from Aldi. 'Tis fab, the lid stops fat from splashing all over the oven and the trivet thing (see I know all the technical terms) lets excess fat run out. It is fantastic for moist but non-greasy lamb and I love the fact it can go in the dishwasher but obviously it was a special so you'd have to wait a few months for Aldi to sell it again.

When I was fed up of having rubbish roasting tins I asked on here and was told to get Mermaid ones.

They are amazing, and I won't have to ever buy roasting tins again.

You can often find them more cheaply in TKMaxx too.

Over the years found that cheap roasting tins are a waste of time. Last example bought one from John Lewis for a tenner. Lasted a few weeks before flaking. Bought another for about £35. Had this for a couple of years and not a sign of flaking. I also have stainless steel ones which are everlasting but again not cheap.

They're fab about 7 years old come up like new. My friend admired them when helping me wash up 😊

Pyrex is good for roasting, but I don't like putting them on the hob to make gravy, think they will crack, so would recommend Le Cruset.

I have the old fashioned white enamel with blue trim, some of them borrowed from my mum ( and never returned!) a couple of them are about 30 years old and look like new. You can scrub them, dishwasher them and they are fine to put on the job to make gravy.

Circulon - had one for 20 years & still looks as good as new despite being used weekly including on gas hob to turn the roasties in hot oil. Don't worry about dishwasher as nothing ever sticks hard. Just need a non stick sponge Smile
