Get your duvet washed?
Change your bedding?
Was the shower curtain?
Wash a pair of jeans you wear all the time?
Clean your windows?
Hoover your house?

Feel free to add anymore!

Do people really hoover once a day Shock - I can just about understand it if you have pets/messy toddlers but surely it's not something most people do?

I think Mumsnetters are ultra houseproud.

Duvet - never
Bedding - hmmm. Not often enough!
Jeans - after every wear due to messy small DC hands
Windows - maybe once a year
Hoovering - once a week, only as needed on top of that. We are all out of the house every day.

Duvet- once or twice a year, when swapping from 10.5 to 7tog.
Bedding- every 2 or 3 weeks. (Single and wear pajamas.)
Jeans- 3 to 5 wears.
Shower curtain- twice a year. It's always left to dry outside the bath, so doesn't get visibly mouldy.
Windows- I did them for the first time a couple of weeks ago, since I moved here last June.
Vacuuming: downstairs weekly and upstairs fortnightly. No pets or shoes inside here.

Do people really hoover once a day

Yep, well my other half does, he's in charge of hoovering. Downstairs is done every day and I do the stairs & upstairs every weekend. Not especially houseproud, well not obsessive anyway.

Genuine question, don't want to be sarky - if you (or your other half) hoover every day - when do you do it? Assuming you are both working, do you come in from work and think 'oh, I must hoover before I have a cup of tea, cook the meal, check the post, have a glass of wine, watch tv, help the children with their homework, walk the dog ......................' - I just can't imagine having the energy or mental head space to even think about hoovering more than once a week. Confused

Duvet - hmm. Maybe once a year. Should do it more often really. Gets a bit foosty.
Don't have a shower curtain but the screen gets wiped with a microfibre cloth once a week or thereabouts
Jeans washed every second wear. Any longer ban that and they are stretched and unflattering
Bedding I am for weekly but the reality is it is usually fortnightly
Hoovering every couple of days downstairs pretty much. Maybe every 3 days or so. Upstairs not often enough. When we have visitors!
Windows get done inside by DH occasionnally. I never think about them

nebulae · 09/04/2016 19:49

Ragwort OH does it in the morning before he gets in the shower, just part of his routine. He doesn't do a huge amount round the house but he always does the hoovering and cleans his beloved TV every day.

Duvet-never
Bedding-every 3-4 weeks, more often in the summer
Jeans- after 5-6 short wears maybe, or 3-4 full days
Don't have a shower curtain
Windows-just arranged a window cleaner to come monthly
Hoovering- most days to some extent

Report

Duvet- Never Blush just replace every few years.

Bedding - weekly in summer as I love drying it on the line. Every two weeks if drying weather isn't good.

Jeans- 3 or 4 wears maybe.

Shower curtain- don't wash it! Blush again! Just replace when it starts looking a bit grim.

Windows- outside monthly by window cleaner. Inside, yearly, at Christmas! Actually do patio doors and French doors every week as the glass gets covered in fingerprints.

Hoovering- do a full hoovering/sweeping of house once a week.

Duvet, never.
Bedding, once a week.
Jeans, after 1 wear, but I wash everything after one wear.
Shower curtain, when it looks like it needs it.
Windows, outside every 2 weeks by window cleaner, I do insides every week.

Hoovering, downstairs everyday. Upstairs once a week, upstairs needs less because theres no shoes or food upstairs.
