"Empty air in order to slowly and peacefully prepare myself for stepping out into the world"

What a load of bollocks Grin

She'd probably faint if she saw my house. It's more Tracey Emin inspired than Marie Kondo.

It's kind of sad really, she only displays things that bring her joy which appears to be a couple of pot plants, a handful.of books and occasionally some clothing hung up to catch the sunlight - definately an unusual personality type.
Joy for me is family photos, art, books, kitchen appliances (oh and I definately couldn't sleep without a headboard)

I think you all missed the last pic. #aprilfool?

Report
mercifulTehlu · 02/04/2016 11:10

I saw this on FB and lots of people seemed to think it was an April Fool - people were saying there's no way that's a Tokyo apartment and that they've seen an interview with MK in her apartment before and it looked nothing like that.

I do like the white. But it makes me think that not much sparks joy in her. It would be nice with a handful of pictures and personal mementoes.

Maybe my joy is too easily sparked Hmm.

Wtf was the last picture in the slideshow?

Cute kitty though!

It looks very peaceful. Id have to add a painting here or there and some colourful rugs but I like the lack of clutter. The cat is gorgeous

jimpam · 02/04/2016 11:12

She spends twenty hours a week going through her things to check if they spark joy?! Twenty hours! She has no stuff, surely twenty minutes would be sufficient?

That last photo must be her secret closet Grin

Wow!! I am incredibly impressed. Not sure how it would feeling living inside a magazine spread (how it looks to me)

My house looks nothing like that however Grin we have somewhat more stuff we have it yet joyfully said goodbye to ...

She would have made a great nun but maybe she's not cross enough Wink

Plus the 'Marie makes sure to fill her entryway with plenty of air' etc is a bit bonkers even for MK!

Bit plain for me as no artwork which I love
Love her books though

I've read on here about people doing her method and I'm sure it's a useful addition to a cluttered home but that house is extreme.

Is it bordering on disordered thinking to spend 20!! Hours a week deciding what to throw away, surely you stop acquiring things at some point or does she shop so she has things to discard? And genuinely believing your sock has been tainted by being balled up in the wrong drawer Shock

My phone is refusing to load the last pic what's it of!

SoupDragon · 02/04/2016 11:17

I agree' there is no way on earth that is a Tokyo apartment.

My comment still stands though... She's bonkers.
