How much do you pay your cleaner?

I know this has been done many a time, but the most recent thread I can find is from 3 years ago.

Can't find a cleaner locally if you can believe it (admittedly I haven't searched very thoroughly yet). Other than Molly Maid who are coming for consultation next week - £20 per hour!! That is the biggest hourly rate I've seen on other threads. Does it sound reasonable? Surrey and they provide all products and equipment.

£11 per hour. North east

£10 p/h, which is the rate the cleaner asked for. SE London. I think the agencies charge a (large) premium for the brand, convenience, reliability etc, but not much gets through to the cleaners.

Is there a local discussion forum or similar where you can ask for a recommendation?

£11 ph in the North East and they bring their own cleaning products. I know there are other cleaners who charge less but I like that there are three cleaners so they are all done in an hour.

Oh wow OK so £20 is loads then. I've just signed up to Facebook again so I can find a cleaner and babysitter Grin so hopefully that will provide some better results.

I would just go through an agency - much more reliable and trustworthy and if your weekly cleaner is ill, they will send someone else

Plus none of the guilt about paying them for holidays

£10 per hour but we provide the cleaning products not her.

After 3 failed attempts with agencies, found someone who works for herself through a local Facebook site. Asked for references. £11 ph and she brings all her own stuff. Same price as agencies round here but she takes far more pride in her work as her reputation is on the line. Am in SE commuter belt.

£10 an hour but she stays an extra half an hour for a cuppa and a natter.

£10 an hour. Brings own stuff. Usually 2 of them come (although I am offered the option each time and no pressure - they are both related to the original lady I had recommended to me). I only pay them when they come and they work like billyo - no persuading them to have a cuppa. No agencies involved though.

I pay £25 per week...I think this probably equates to around £10ph although I guess sometimes she's here longer than 2.5 hours?!

We're in South Wales

Not agency, and she uses my cleaning stuff.

£11 per hour on south coast. Very small 'company' - one woman and her friends. They bring their own things and are great.

£15 per hr. But she also ad hoc babysits so I want her happy to stay. She's well worth it.

Ooh cointreau might you be able to PM me your cleaner's details please? Might be local to me. Don't worry if not.
