I have a morphy Richards sear and stew which I love. have both the 6.5 and 3.5 litre version.

you can use it on hob to brown the meat.

I mainly use Internet fir recipes

I've got a tefal one that also is a rice cooker and steamer. I really like it. The only recipe advice from me is don't add too much liquid to casseroles or that kind of thing, they seem to generate their own.

Oh a timer plug is also very useful for those days your out much longer and may not want it on first thing

I don't have a specific one to recommend but I'd definitely recommend an aluminium inner instead of a crockery one. Crock ones are hevy and less versatile. Imo
Not much help I guess grin

I've got the sear and stew too and it's great. Being able to brown the meat before on the hob means it usually tastes better. I think it's only £20.

Another vote for Morphy Richards. I have 3 in different sizes. Cristmas Eve one will have the ham, one the Spiced beef and the other the mulled wine I am thinking I need a fourth for the kiddies hot drink blush
