I am due a baby in a few weeks so maybe this is my style of nesting but can I tell you what I have just saved doing switches in the last few weeks?

  • Switched current account bank - Earned £150 incentive
  • Switched broadband and line rental (don't have tv package) - Saved £250
  • Switched electricity (don't have gas) - Saved £100
  • Switched accountant - Saved £1200
  • I also just did our home insurance and car insurance but home was similar I think and car is double as we have gone from small car to SUV thingy.

But seriously, that is a lot of money saved by sitting down and doing the groundwork. Can I say that switching electricity took me 5 mins, broadband etc. took about 20mins (inc phonecalls to old supplier to confirm they would shut down account which was probably unnecessary), Bank was the most hassle but its more that the process is drawn out and I read all the documentation they sent, while needed to check about what would happen to all my other bank accounts but looking back it was simpler than I made it.

Anyway, happy switching!

Find a bill and phone your provider. Or look at their tariff online and assume you are their 'standard'.

You can get cashback from topcashback or quidco for switching too.
