Not circulon, ours are 9 years old and need replacing even though we never use metal utensils and hand wash not dishwasher

Agree re circulon/anolon

We've just got some of this le creuset stainless steel:

Only had it a year but it's wonderful. It just FEELS good.

I have the same le creuset set as SwearyInn. Had them 5 years now and they are still like new. I love them

I'm sure someone will be along to recommend some mega-expensive pans that will last for generations but fwiw I'm very happy with my IKEA 365+ saute pan and stockpot that I've had for a while now and look like new. I use the stockpot as a veg pan and for soups. It's used every single day and looks like new.
Not bankbreaking to buy, either.

Good old fashioned le creuset, 30 years and still going strong. My wrists will give out before them. Have replaced one wooden handle that got burnt and one knob that broke.Just don't drop them, they snap in two. DC have offered to inherit early.
Or really good stainless steel, not as heavy.

We got Le Creuset stainless tri ply (as per link up thread) for our wedding 10 years ago and they are fabulous. One has a ding where I dropped it but they are all brilliant to cook with.

I'm still using the prestige stainless steel saucepans that belonged to DH Grandmother, we've had them 25 years and I'd assume they were at least 10yo before that. My favourite buffet and milk pans are le creuset tns pans though, they're gorgeous and very strong, I expect them to last donkeys years.

I have Stellar pans as well- I agree amazing quality. I've had them for 18 years & always put them in the dishwasher as well. They are so worth the money!

Just to add I had a triply le creuset milk pan that some of the non stick went after about 5 years, they replaced with a TNS free of charge with no quibbles and I didn't need to return the damaged one or provide a receipt. Excellent customer service!!

we've got these. They're fantastic and cheaper than a lot of the high end brands.

Another Le Creuset fan here. Cast iron ones are heavy but so hard wearing and will last forever. I've also got a set of the non stick saucepans and frying pans, again expensive but they have a lifetime guarantee so will be replaced with no quibble at all. I got mine at an outlet shop and got a great discount.

oh wow thanks all. I did think La Creuset might come up, might avoid the heavy cast iron ones though :-)

Thank you for starting this OP.

I'm going to need to start replacing my wonderful Prestige copper bottomed pans as one of the knobs on one of the lids has come off irreparably; fortunately, I've got the casserole as well as the pan in that size, but now can't use both at the same time.

They're 20+ years old so haven't done badly but they aren't going to work on an induction hob (if I ever get one) so we thought it would be worth looking round now.

WMF stainless steel - work excellently, and 20 years they still look like new.

Same as brenda - John Lewis. We got 2 pans as a wedding present in 2003. They are the only 2 pans I have (plus a frying pan), now have a family of 5 so have probably used them every day for 12+ years.

They look brand new.

I like Circulon. I got some from Amazon on a Black Friday type thing about 5 years ago. They're not too heavy (I have ms, am v weak) but have lasted brilliantly.

Another vote for stellar - mine are about 20 years old and still great

BananaPie · 09/11/2015 02:21

I came on to say stellar, but I've been beaten to it! They replaced my 30 year old le creuset and I'm very pleased with them.

My boss has Stellar, they are beautiful! I almost want them, but I like my Circulon ones just a tiny bit better.

(and every time Masterchef is on I can annoy dd and dh by shouting out in mock surprise "hey! They've got my pans!")

Another vote for ikea 365 pans. I have a couple of the stainless steel saucepans and two non stick frying pans, I've had them for about five years and they still look great despite being used a lot.

A question about the Stellar pans - how hot do the handles get?

My current pans have plastic handles, but I'm concerned that I'd be forever needing a mit to hold the handle of the metal ones, even when cooking on the hob (obviously need a mit for the oven!).

I have Le Creuset stainless steel. They are fine. I also have two Le Creuset non-stick pans: never dishwashed them and always treated them well. On both the non-stick coating has bubbled round the edges, as I=f it's painted on rather than baked on. They still work but look terrible and I wonder about hygiene under the flappy edges of the coating. I'd never buy them again. Tried to use the guarantee: they say we must have damaged them some way ourselves and refused to replace..
