Removing Stain from Timberland Boot

Hi,
I've gone to out on my winter boots and ground this stain on them.
Not sure what has caused it?! There's no residue. Just marks.
Any tips on how to remove please as boots are quite pricey to replace and it's in a really obvious place!?

I would try a Fkas magic eraser if similar. Cleaned DD's Uggs with one, better than the official kit
