I am tempted to get rid if it to make me put clothes away straight away but I know I would end up with a pile on the floor.

Tell me Im not alone in my slobbishness

No. In only a few days I can amass a staggering collection of clothes. I don't think I have actually seen the chair for many months now. I think this is quite normal.

For a day at the most, my chair was available to be used as an actual seat at some point at the start of the Easter holidays!

You are not alone. I then have to carefully go through the pile, looking for the item I want to wear too.

Doesn't everyone have a chair in their bedroom piled with clothes.

I do tend to sort it out when it gets to toppling over point. I discover clothes that I forgot I had .

No. I have three bedroom chairs all with heaps of clothes on them. You're slacking, go and buy more chairs to put clothes on at once! Smile

We have two. One for me one for DH. I've had one since childhood. And my parents had them too. I'm trying to break the habit with my brood.

Ours only has DH's clothes on. The clothes he says are too clean for the wash and too dirty to be put away Hmm

We've had many discussions about this over the years.

I have one. It's rare for my clothes to make it as far as the wardrobe.

I also have an immaculate friend who is nonplussed by this habit but she has a live-in housekeeper so I consider her opinion irrelevant

That and the top of the laundry bin too.

Surely this is quite normal. Mine is actually a pile of clothes on my washing basket, but same principle except more inconvenient as I can't open the basket easily!

Spero · 18/04/2015 17:04

Too clean to wash but too dirty to put away is the precise reason I have a clothes on chairs. I'm certainly not washing something after one wear unless it is stained or smelly. But it doesn't feel right to put it back in wardrobe.

We have 2 chairs,if I sort out the main chair of washing I put DPs stuff on his chair. I haven't seen either chairs for many years.

I felt a bit sick when I went to a newish friends house..she's been coming into mine to walk my dog for months ,so seeing it in its daily state of chaos and mess , hers was more immaculate than a show home..

Some people are a bit over tidy! An affliction I think :-)

But it doesn't feel right to put it back in wardrobe.
With you on this - have you thought of replacing chair with second wardrobe, for clothes that you don't want to put back in first wardrobe? note to self -why didn't I think of this idea years ago
