Ultimate middle-class problem I KNOW I KNOW but I am rather put out.
Love my cleaner, and expected her to come today at 9 a.m. when both DH and I were at work. At 10:30 he got a text from her saying she was sick, had asked the agency to inform us and wanted to make sure they had.
They hadn't. So DH got on the phone and they were very apologetic and said they would send a team of two round for 90 mins - we usually have one for 3 hours so that was fine. We were very pleased they could send someone!
Just got home and I'm really miffed. First of all there are ittle things like not putting the cleaning stuff away even though they must have got it out so knew where it went (of course I would have got it out myself if I'd known someone new was coming!), moving the cats' beds into the bathroom (???), leaving rolls of kitchen paper in the bathroom and the bedroom but whatever, those are small things and it's a one off.
But! They left all my windows open!! It's bloody freezing, my cats could have escaped, and we could have been robbed! And the absolute WORST thing is that I left our cleaner's usual fee and then a card with her name on the envelope and her bonus inside...and they've taken it!! That was her Christmas bonus and I'm worried they won't give it to her. I'm also miffed that they just decided to take it even though she isn't here - isn't it up to me to decide whether or not she still gets the bonus? Of course she WOULD, I would never withhold it, but I feel like it was up to me to decide that, iyswim, not some random. I should much prefer they had left it and I would give it to her when she comes next time.
I am going to moan about the windows to them - not the silly other stuff - because that's a safety issue, but I also want to know what they've done with our cleaner's bloody card!
