I find my 3. 5l sear and stew plenty fir 4 people.

If I fill it making a spaghetti bolognase I usually have enough to do a shepherds pie the following day and still have a portion of mince big enough for the kids to share to freeze.

but we are talking two adults and two children.

I don't forsee any problem in the near future with regards to it nit being big enough.

In fact the only reason I just bought the bigger version is so I can easily fit in large joints of meat rather than having to but in half. those joints do two or three meals though.

depends. what are the appetites of your family like?

I'd say that was a pretty good size if you intend on filling it and freezing.

Then go for the 4.7.

The 6.5s are massive

I have a 4.7l and it's perfect for the four of us, can roast a whole chicken or do double portions and a bit of chilli, curry, casserole etc.
