Hiya, I have an old sofa which needs s good clean, was wondering wether anyone can recommend a fabric cleaner that you can use to clean them in situ ie. a mousse of some sort or shall I risk the washing machine?? Thank you

I say machine machine but then again everything goes through my washing machine, dry clean only and even surface wash only stuff.

I'm going to risk mine in the washing machine this weekend - especially after the cat hawked up a hair ball on the sofa the other day.

Thank you, I think I'm going to try that if all else fails but I am worried I might not get them back on again , maybe I will put it on a 40 wash and give it ago !

Warm water with Stardrops. Wring a white cloth out after dunking in the water and use it to clean the sofa.

If you take the covers off and wash them instead, put them back on the sofa when still slightly damp. They'll be easier to fit on and stretch a bit if required and you won't have to worry about ironing them as they have been stretched into place.
