Ooh! Me too!

Porch: Put away summer coats / sandals
Lounge: Sort mountain of paperwork, Vacuum, clean window
Kitchen: Catch up with washing up, mop floor.

That'll do. Is this all today?

I want to know about the beach stuff in your lounge...

Let hello Smile

I'm doing this by 3pm today. Then I'll post another list.

Beach stuff
huge bag of buckets, spades, sun tent, beach tennis, boules (sp?)
Three camping chairs
Four body boards and wetsuits
Windbreaker
fishing nets x2

They were in the boot of my car but I got a new one and had to empty them out the old one into the lounge - as porch overflowing and downstairs loo has flatpack furniture in it.

But we had a great packed half term Grin 's in the face of mess!

I'm at work until 1, then collecting the toddler from nursery. Don't want to over-exert myself.

We had the in-laws staying for the weekend so housework slid a bit, hence needing to do the washing up. I'm very glad not to have wetsuits in my lounge though!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 04/11/2014 10:48

Good idea.

Clothes
Empty suitcase from the weekend.
Sort out dirty clothes and put wash on.
Rescue washing from line that got rained on and either re-wash or hang inside.
Put mountains of clean clothes away.

Kitchen
Empty and reload dishwasher
Wipe surfaces
Clean inside of fridge
Hoover floor

Living room
Pick up sweetie wrappers (damn you, Halloween!)
Hoover

Hall
Put away suitcase
Hoover

Nursery
Clean dog pee off rug (I should probably start with this - must add that DS doesn't sleep in the nursery yet!)
Hoover

Bedrooms
Make beds
Quick tidy
Hoover

Bathrooms
Quick spray with cleaner + wipe
Hoover

My list looks too long!

I won't get everything done today, but I might get some of it tackled. In between looking after 16 week old DS and walking the dog and making curry for tonight.

So far I have emptied and refilled the dishwasher, made the beds, sprayed the rug with carpet cleaner in preparation for scrubbing it and binned all rubbish in kitchen and living room.

I'm all about the life experiences and not the dust!

Right, off to change DS' nappy.

The sad thing about housework is that even that list, which looks huge, doesn't cover the half of it. I could add cleaning mirrors and windows, washing curtains, changing DD's sheets, cleaning out the fire and hearth, dusting everywhere and a huge amount of decluttering and it would probably still not look spotless.

Oooh I love lists! I have a stairs and landing carpet being fitted this afternoon so mine is:

Tidy/hoover bedrooms
Hoover landing & stairs
Wipe round skirting boards on landing
Clean the banisters
Give the upstairs loo/basin a scrub
Quick tidy round of the living room
Hoover/mop living room

tooextra Ive learnt to lower my standards and it doesnt matter if there are lulls inbetween highs! I used to be quite anal but...at the minute it has reached 'ok I suppose I better do it' point! Grin

Congrats on you DS btw...anyway if it helps my DD'DS sheets are a bit greenoff halloween hair spray and face paints - like I said Ive lowered my standards - I'll get them stripped tomorrow. They are all clean and fed, they are all cleanand fed, the are all clean and fed...

mumtobe - panic stations here if I had somone comming round! But oh your new carpet will be nice. Once I gt potty training done I shall be dropping flooring into the conversation often Wink

Well forgot to say - been to Asda have a pile of stuff to cook for bonfire party (but just us) So DD is asleep and Im testing the Hazelnut hot chocolate out with marshmallows and a nip of brady - feel very naughty but have jut put Downton Abbey on....

There is a law somewhere that say while children are napping that time can be used to do naff all - or it is a waste of peace and quiet!

andsmile it is panic stations!! The door to the kitchen is staying firmly shut!!

Being 7 months pregnant speed cleaning doesn't work!! I swapped the fitted sheets for valance ones to hide the crap under the beds, and may have kicked a few more things under them too!

Mumtobetothree, when are you due? I'm 28 weeks.
Pregnancy just makes me hate my house! Everything looks dirty and I start throwing everything that hasn't been used in a week, away!

I have to go round with air freshener about five times a day too!
I'm trying to write lists so I don't lose my mind :)

Boxing Day Bimberley how about you??

I know what you mean, I have a 2 year old DS and a 6 year old DD, engineer DH and permanently shedding dogs, by the time I've waddled round a room it's already being undone!

New carpet looks fab though, I want to hoover it lol

I'm done, I also got the living room/dining room dusted and a couple of loads of washing through, my back's killing me and my bump's tightening, I think it's my bodies way of saying "Whoa there!" So I'm just going to chill (and count down the minutes until the 7pm bedtime)

Report
andsmile · 04/11/2014 21:01

Oh mumtobe I remember that heavy tight feeling, bet you were cradling bump by the end...aww bless.

Well folks i got done

Porch half cleared but not cleaned
Cleaned bathroom - well toilet and sink
Tidied round bedrooms
Dusted and hoovered lounge and our bedroom
Got clothes ready for tomorrow for me and kids
Cooked shepherd pie
Baking parkin cake in slow cooker for bonfire night
Got towels washed
Got airers in from garden - clothes still damp
Packed lunch done for DS, DH can whistle

I badly handled an incident with DC's - the little one (DD 2.8) ended up screaming from being hurt for a second time today - both bangs to head so DS got it full force, now I feel parental failure. Sad

OK, I might have aimed a little too high yesterday. Although I did watch an episode of Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners which motivated me to de-grot the door frames. Vacuuming done but will need doing again as DDog 2 is shedding (how is she not BALD by now?!?).

Are we doing it again today? I shall try and do better:

Clean bathroom
Strip DS' bed
Vacuum stairs / landing / bedrooms
Check 2nd hand puzzles I bought are all there and stash away for when DS is older.

Congratulations on the new and imminent babies!

I'm back again, DD is shipped off to school and DS is here, shame it couldn't be the other way around as DD loves dusting lol and DS is currently demolishing the house in that special way that only a 2 year old can!

This morning the plan is to:

  • Retidy the living/dining room
  • Hoover the living/dining room
  • Clear the kitchen floor
  • Tidy off the worktops
  • Sort the clean laundry into piles and GET IT PUT AWAY
  • Keep ploughing through the washing-I have 2 green recycling bags after my massive upstairs declutter!!

Plenty of stops and I'll see how bump does. Just to give an idea of DS's input, so far he's unzipped and thrown off the seat and back cushions from both sofas, got the mop out the bucket and dragged it complete with dirty water dripping through from the utility room to the living room, stinking out/drenching the kitchen and dining room in the process, tipped out the laundry basket to lay it on its side to reach the worktop and thrown cheerios all over...is it really only 9:05?!

Morning!
I'm due 29th Jan. My babies tend to arrive a little early though.

Well I done most of my list last night. Minus the hob.

I haven't done anything today as I'm visiting my mum while DD is at school.

Plan for later after school:

Wash up dishes and wipe sides.
Make all the beds
Sweep throughout.
Wipe over table.
Put away things in correct places.
Read and do homework with DD
Dinner

Have an hour to do it as FIL is over for dinner tonight!

Yesterday I did:

Dishwasher
One load washing
Cooked dinner
Tidied living room

Today I have done 2 loads of washing and hoovered the living room rug. And put away all DD and DS' clothes properly. Still got to put mine and DH's clothes away, plus three quarters of yesterday's list.
Mumtobe, I have a 2 yo too - I feel for you! DD has an incredible ability to spread mess. And she's stopped going to bed nicely/easily so her 7.30 bedtime was 9 o'clock last night before she stopped crying and actually went to sleep.
